We Are The World 25 For Haiti - Official Video

Recorded on February 1st, 2010, in the same studio as the original 25 years earlier (Henson Recording Studios, formerly A&M Recording Studios) "We Are The World 25 For Haiti", in which Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie serve as executive producers and producers, was created in collaboration with executive producers Wyclef Jean, Randy Phillips and Peter Tortorici; producers Humberto Gattica and RedOne; and co-producers Rickey Minor, Mervyn Warren and Patti Austin to benefit the Haitian earthquake relief efforts and the rebuilding of Haiti. Academy Award-winning writer-director Paul Haggis (Crash, Million Dollar Baby), whose own personal efforts as well as those of Artists for Peace and Justice have already saved countless lives in Haiti, filmed the private recording session to create the accompanying video and behind-the-scenes production, and serves as Film Director and as an Executive Producer with Jones, Richie, Jean, Phillips and Tortorici. The 25th Anniversary recording features over 80 artists and performers. The recording of We Are The World 25 For Haiti embodied the same enthusiasm, sense of purpose and generosity as the original recording 25 years ago. Every one of the artists who participated, regardless of genre or generation, walked into the room with their hearts and souls completely open to coming together to help the people of Haiti.

The Beatles You're Going To Lose That Girl (2009 Stereo Remaster)

"You're Going to Lose That Girl" is a song by the Beatles from the album and film Help!, written by John Lennon with Paul McCartney. Capitol Records originally titled the song "You're Gonna Lose That Girl" in the United States. The last song recorded before breaking off to make the film, the song was composed at Lennon's house in Weybridge. In the lyrics the singer tells his "friend" that, if he does not value his girl, the singer will "make a point of taking her away" from him. To The Beatle's familiar twist beat and using variations of familiar doo-wop chords, Lennon's nagging lead singing is set in a call-and-response with the enthusiastic answering harmonies of McCartney and George Harrison, offering a last glimpse of the early Beatles' musical home turf. In the film, the group appears singing this song in the recording studio. (In addition to the group's familiar guitar-and-drum setup, there is also footage of Paul McCartney at a piano and Ringo Starr playing the bongos, both miming instruments they had overdubbed onto the recording.) Towards the end, one of the thugs uses a chainsaw to saw a hole in the floor around the drum kit. The producer reports that they will have to re-record the song due to a buzzing noise, at which point Starr and the drums fall through the floor.

The Beatles - The Making of Strawberry Fields Forever (1966-67)

My story about the making of the song Strawberry Fields Forever. From its basic inception whilst filming in Spain. To the recording and re-recording of the song at Abbey Road studios. My story ends with the famous promo film, filmed in Knole Park, Sevenoaks. Some of the demo recordings heard here are actually longer and there are a few more takes. There is obviously more to the technicalities of the recordings than I could cover fully here. Anyway I think this kind of covers most of it. Enjoy!

George Harrison - Someplace Else (Cloud Nine Version)

This is the album version of "Someplace Else" by legendary Beatle "George Harrison". The original version of this song appeared on the soundtrack to the 1986 film Shanghai Surprise (starring Madonna & Sean Penn). It was later re-recorded and produced by ELO (Electric Light Orchestra) frontman "Jeff Lynne" for Harrison's 1987 album "Cloud Nine". Although never released as a single and with no original video as such (for the album version) the track remains a huge favourite amongst fans. So as a tribute to this remarkable mans talents we have pieced together some promotional footage taken from the motion picture to form our own unique attempt at a clip to go with this beautiful version of a Harrison classic. We hope you enjoy & RIP George. Cloud Nine was a successful 1987 comeback album by George Harrison, recorded and released after a five year hiatus from his recording career. As home to the smash hit "Got My Mind Set on You", Cloud Nine re-established Harrison as a critically-acclaimed and commercially-significant recording artist. It was also George Harrison's final studio album released in his lifetime. For more information about George you can visit: www.GeorgeHarrison.com *Note Ifyou are a Record Company employee or artist(s) themselves who object(s) to this commercially unavailable video footage being promoted on YouTube (albeit in a lossy mono audio format) then please contact us to have it removed before flagging it. Motörhead - Ace of Spades (Slow Acoustic)

Great new version of the Motörhead classic. It's a slow acoustic version of the original song with Lemmy playing harmonica instead of the bass, and Phil playing acoustic guitar, with a slide during the solo. This new version definitely has a very bluesy feel to it, and Lemmy's famous vocals are really complemented by the acoustic track and the slow tempo. The song was re recorded for a Kronenbourg commercial. The song was up for download on Kronenbourg's official UK site, but apparently ran out of downloads. They are trying to get more up, but will take time. Sungha www.sunghajung.com arranged and played 'They Don't Care About Us' by Michael Jackson. "They Don't Care About Us" is the fourth single from Michael Jackson's album HIStory Past, Present and Future, Book I, released on April 1, 1996. The song remains one of the most controversial pieces Jackson ever composed. In the US, media scrutiny surrounding alleged antisemitic lyrics were the catalyst for Jackson issuing multiple apologies and re-recording the song with altered lyrics. The singer countered allegations of antisemitism, arguing that reviews had misinterpreted the context of the song, either unintentionally or deliberately. Musically, it is an aggressive hip-hop production about social ills. The song was accompanied by two music videos directed by Spike Lee. The first was shot in two locations in Brazil, a favela in Rio de Janeiro called Dona Marta and in Salvador da Bahia.[1][2] State authorities tried to ban all production over fears the video would damage their image, the area and prospects of staging the 2004 Olympics. Still, the residents of the area were happy to see the singer, hoping their problems would be made visible to a wider audience.[2] The second video was shot in a prison and contained video footage of multiple references to human rights abuses. Commercially, the song became a top ten hit in all European countries and number one in Germany for three weeks. I also do music transcriptions by request! www.scriptions.ca MP3 for this and all my MPC videos at www.scriptions.ca It's... about... time. My sincere apologies for my lack of contribution to the MPC world these last six months. I feel sometimes like I'm running out of good songs to "paint". However, springtime has begun, and with it, it has brought a rejuvenation to my mindset of life and creativity. Indeed, tonight is going to be a good, good night. This is one of the songs I hear every day I'm at work, and I never thought to put it to paint until three days ago. From start to finish, this took me about 9 hours over three days, including reworking tempos, fine-tuning, and re-recording several times to get the audio level right. While this isn't one of my favourite songs, I think it has a good beat, and it builds anticipation well. Oh, and this is the first time I've used every sound in the default sound set in one song. By the way, I'd call it "I Got A Feeling" to be grammatically correct—since "gotta" is short for "got to" and not "got a"—but I'm a stickler for consistency, and if Black Eyed Peas wants their song title grammatically incorrect, then so it shall be. One Tin Soldier - The Legend of Billy Jack

"One Tin Soldier" is a 60s era anti-war song written by Dennis Lambert and Brian Potter. The Canadian pop group Original Caste first recorded the song in 1969. The track briefly reached limited popularity locally and reached Number 34 on the American pop charts in early 1970. "One Tin Soldier" tells the abstract story of a hidden treasure and two neighboring peoples, the Mountain People and the Valley People. The Valley People are aware of a treasure on the mountain, buried under a stone; they send a message to the Mountain People demanding those riches. When told they can share the treasure, the Valley People instead decided to take it all by force. After killing all the Mountain People, the victors move the stone and find nothing more than a simple message: "Peace on Earth." Ironically, the valley people destroyed the treasure in pursuit of it. The Billy Jack connection: Jinx Dawson of the band Coven sang the song at a 1971 session with the film's orchestra as part of the soundtrack for the Warner Brothers movie Billy Jack. Jinx asked that her band, Coven, be listed on the recording and film, not her name as a solo artist. This Warner release, titled as "One Tin Soldier: The Legend of Billy Jack," reached #17 on Billboard's Hot 100 in fall 1971, only to be pulled from the charts as it was moving up by the Billy Jack film producers due to legal squabbles over the rights to the recording. The full Coven band then reluctantly re-recorded the song for their MGM album. Thus ...

Band Aid - Feed The World (Original Version)

Band Aid was a British and Irish charity supergroup, founded in 1984 by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise money for famine relief in Ethiopia by releasing the record "Do They Know It's Christmas?" for the Christmas market that year. The single surpassed the hopes of the producers to become the Christmas number one on that release. Two subsequent re-recordings of the song to raise further money for charity also topped the charts. Dire Straits- Sultans Of Swing (LIVE) full version

- Live in Basel 1992, full 11 minute version including the entire legendary solo. - "Sultans of Swing" was the first single release of the British rock band Dire Straits. - It was first recorded as a demo at Pathway Studios, North London, and quickly acquired a following after it was put on rotation at Radio London. It did not take long for its popularity to reach record executives, and Dire Straits were offered a contract with Phonogram Records. The song was then re-recorded and released in both the United Kingdom and the United States, though the demo version remained on the original UK Vertigo single. - The song was played before every home game of the Springfield (IL) Sultans of the Midwest League in 1994 and 1995. - The song was originally released in May 1978 but did not chart. Following re-issue in January 1979, the song entered the American music pop chart. Unusually, the success of this single release came more than six months after the relatively unheralded release of the band's debut album in October 1978. BBC Radio was unwilling to play the song due to its high lyrical content; after it became a US hit, their line softened. The song reached the top 10 in both the UK and the US, reaching number 8 on the UK Singles Chart and number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and helped drive sales of the album, which also became a hit. - It was re-issued again as a single in November 1988. - The original '78-'79 single can be identified by the words "Thank You" which are found ...

Merry Christmas, Darling - The Carpenters

Karen's sweet voice singing the sweetest Christmas song. Richard Carpenter composed the music for this song in 1966 when he was 19 years old. Frank Pooler wrote the lyrics twenty years earlier, in 1946, when he also was only 19 years old. The song Pooler had written was to be a Christmas gift for his girl friend whom he was missing while being away from her during a visit with his parents at Christmas time. Sadly, their relationship ended before he could present it to her. Twenty years later, Pooler was the choir director at California State University in Long Beach, when both Karen and Richard Carpenter were part of the choir. Richard and Karen were playing local gigs and had tired of playing the usual Christmas fare. Richard asked Pooler, their favorite professor, if he had any ideas for different songs. Pooler remembered the Christmas song he had written many years before and mentioned it to Richard, adding that he didn't think much of the melody anymore. Richard said he would try his hand at writing new music for the lyrics. Within about 15 minutes he was finished creating a song, that was written by two teenagers who were a generation apart, that was destined to become a Christmas classic. The song was first released as a single (yes, a 45) on November 20,1970, and earned gold record status. This song sparked the idea of a Christmas album by The Carpenters, and on October 13, 1978, "Christmas Portrait" was released with this newly recorded version of the song. Karen ...

The Beatles - I Should Have Known Better

The Beatles - I Should Have Known Better 1964 "I Should Have Known Better" is a song composed by John Lennon[1][2] (credited to Lennon/McCartney), and originally released by The Beatles on the UK version of A Hard Day's Night, their soundtrack for the film of the same name. The song is performed in the train compartment scene of A Hard Day's Night. It was in fact filmed in a van, with crew members rocking the vehicle to fake the action of a train in motion.[3] An orchestrated version of the song conducted by George Martin appears on the US version of the album. In January 1964, during a three-week engagement at the Olympia Theatre in Paris, the Beatles first became aware of American singer and songwriter Bob Dylan and, when having acquired a copy of his album Freewheelin' Bob Dylan, began playing it continuously.[4] American journalist Al Aronowitz introduced them to Dylan when the Beatles visited New York in February 1964, and Dylan subsequently became a big influence on the group, especially Lennon, who even started wearing a copycat Huckleberry Finn cap.[5] One consequence of this "infatuation" (as Ian MacDonald later described it) was the song "I Should Have Known Better".[6] Paul McCartney said Dylan's songs were "great lyrically",[7] and Lennon credited Dylan with inspiring him to write more meaningful lyrics.[8] The first recording session for the song was on 25 February 1964 at Abbey Road Studios when three takes were attempted, but only one was complete. The Velvet Underground - Heroin

Though largely ignored upon its release, it has since become one of the most influential and critically lauded rock albums in history, appearing as #13 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time as well as being added to the 2006 National Recording Registry by the Librarian of Congress. On the 1996 CD reissue, the banana image is on the front cover while the image of the peeled banana is on the inside of the jewel case, beneath the CD itself. Much of the album's sound was conceived by John Cale, who stressed the experimental qualities of the band. Cale, who was influenced greatly by his work with La Monte Young, John Cage and the early Fluxus movement, encouraged the use of alternative ways of producing sound in music. Cale thought his sensibilities meshed well with Lou Reed's, who was already experimenting with alternative tunings. For instance, Reed had "invented" the ostrich guitar tuning for a song he wrote called "The Ostrich" for the short-lived band The Primitives. Ostrich guitar tuning consists of all strings being tuned to the same note. The method was utilized on songs "Venus in Furs" and "All Tomorrow's Parties". Often, the guitars were also tuned down a whole step, which produced a lower, fuller sound that Cale called "sexy". Track History: "Heroin" is a song by The Velvet Underground, released on their 1967 debut album, The Velvet Underground and Nico. KOTO - Visitors (best audio)

One of my all-time favs! Koto is an Italian synth pop group that originally consisted of Anfrando Maiola and Stefano Cundari. Their most popular songs were "Visitors", "Dragon's Legend", "Chinese Revenge" and "Jabdah", released in 1983-1988. Koto is often associated with a genre of music called Spacesynth, a music style streamed from Space Disco. Unfortunately, it has been reported that Stefano Cundari died some time between 1991 and 1992 from a brain tumor. Anfrando Maiola and Stefano Cundari helped to form Memory Records, an Italian record company which specialised in mainly Italo Disco releases. Koto's "Chinese Revenge" was the first record to be released on the Memory label. It sold over 10000 copies in Italy alone. Both artists also helped to write, mix, and produce for a range of other artists signed to the Memory Records label, including "Challenger" and "Happy Song" for the band Baby's Gang. Stefano Cundari is also known for his participation in the group "Hipnosis" from 1982-1987. Following their successful debut with "Chinese Revenge" both Maiola and Cundari helped remix the Vangelis track "Pulstar" for Hipnosis. Their remix of Pulstar reportedly sold over 200000 copies worldwide. By 1986 the mood of the record buying public was starting to change. House Music was becoming increasingly popular, and the demand for Italo Disco tracks appeared to be in decline. Memory Records, along with other Italo record companies of the time, started to suffer financially ...

LeAnn Rimes - How Do I Live [Official Music Video] [HQ]

LeAnn's 4th video. LeAnn is the original singer of this song not Trisha Yearwood. (read history below). Albums: You Light Up My Life: Inspirational Songs & Greatest Hits Writer: Diane Warren © 1997 Curb Records, Inc. History of How Do I Live: "How Do I Live" is a 1997 song, written by Diane Warren, that was released originally by LeAnn Rimes, and shortly afterward by Trisha Yearwood. The song was originally intended for release as a single for the 1997 action blockbuster Con Air soundtrack. Warren wrote the song for Rimes to sing. The producers felt that Rimes's version had too much of a pop feeling to it, and requested that she re-record it to fit their standards. She refused, and the producers chose Trisha Yearwood to record the song. Her more country-style version was released on May 27, 1997 and appeared in the film. When Rimes heard of the release, she quickly released her version. Despite only peaking as high as number seven in the UK Singles Chart, LeAnn Rimes' version of How Do I Live spent thirty-four weeks in the chart. It set a record for staying on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for sixty-nine weeks. The song entered the Top 25 US Country singles chart on June 21, 1997 and was still there in February 2003, a record 291 weeks (five and half years) later. How Do I Live was covered by FIR (Faye and Real featuring LeAnn Rimes). FIR invited Rimes to record a portion of the song for their third album Flight Tribe in 2006. The song has also been performed on the hit ...

Elton John - Skyline Pigeon

From album "Empty Sky" (1969). Music by Elton John; lyrics by Bernie Taupin. Lyrics / Testo Turn me loose from your hands Let me fly to distant lands Over green fields, trees and mountains Flowers and forest fountains Home along the lanes of the skyway For this dark and lonely room Projects a shadow cast in gloom And my eyes are mirrors Of the world outside Thinking of the way That the wind can turn the tide And these shadows turn From purple into grey For just a Skyline Pigeon Dreaming of the open Waiting for the day He can spread his wings And fly away again Fly away skyline pigeon fly Towards the dreams You've left so very far behind Just let me wake up in the morning To the smell of new mown hay To laugh and cry, to live and die In the brightness of my day I want to hear the pealing bells Of distant churches sing But most of all please free me From this aching metal ring And open out this cage towards the sun. Bernie Taupin: "That's a song with a history. I think, funnily enough, Skyline Pigeon was the first really good song that we ever wrote. I think it was a lanmark as far as our writing was concerned - it was a good blend of lyrics and melody. It was originally included on the Empty Sky album, and was also one of the first songs that we wrote that was covered. There was a guy called Roger Cook that wanted to record it, and in order for him to record it, Dick James gave part of the publishing to him. We obviously liked the song enough to re-record it later on, and ...

EVANESCENCE (Amy Lee & SETHER) - BROKEN - (English - Español - Lyrics - Subs)

DUO GROUP: Seether (South Africa) & Amy Lee (Evanescence - EEUU) SINGERS: Amy Lee & Shaun Morgan SONG: Broken (2002) ENGLISH - ENGLISH - ENGLISH Seether is a South-African post-grunge/alternative metal band from Pretoria, South Africa, formed in 1999. The band is currently signed to Wind-up Records. Originally named Saron Gas and signed to Musketeer Records in South Africa, they changed their name in 2002, coinciding with the release of their second album and major label debut, Disclaimer. To date they have sold 5 million albums worldwide. After Disclaimer was released, the band went on a non-stop touring route in hopes of boosting sales and name recognition. Upon completing the tour, the band had planned to go into the studio and record their second release. However, they were instead tapped to support Evanescence on a worldwide tour that postponed their recording plans by almost a year. On this tour, the band reworked the acoustic ballad "Broken" into an electric ballad and had Amy Lee of Evanescence share vocal duties with Morgan during live performances. Inspired by the positive reaction the duet got on the road and perhaps fueled by a budding romance between Lee and Morgan, the band headed into the studio and quickly recorded an alternate version of "Broken" with Amy Lee on vocals. The song, along with a new song titled "Sold Me", was featured on the soundtrack for the 2004 film The Punisher and was massively successful, bringing the band fame in the US, the UK and ...

According to Robby, it was inspired by the song "(Ghost) Riders in the Sky: A Cowboy Legend." The song is played in the E Dorian mode, and incorporates real sound effects of thunder and rain, along with Ray´s Fender Rhodes electric piano playing, which emulates the sound of rain. The song was recorded at the Doors Workshop in December 1970 with the assistance of Bruce Botnick, their longtime engineer, who was co-producing the recording sessions. Jim ...

Carpenters - Now (Karen Carpenter's LAST recording)

In June 1981, Karen and Richard released "Made In America" and made a world tour to promote the album with appearances in Brazil and Germany. In November of that year, she and Richard returned home to California. Karen and her husband Tom Burris formally separated that same month. Shortly after Christmas, Karen moved to New York to begin treatment for her anorexia. She sought treatment with psychotherapist Steven Levenkron who was noted for his research into anorexia nervosa and self injury. In April 1982, she took a two-week vacation from her treatment and returned home to California. She and Richard returned to the studio and recorded several songs, including this song, "Now.". At the time of this recording, Karen was heavily anorexic. Richard says she had lost even more weight since the last time he had seen her the year before. Karen returned to New York and stayed there until November 1982. During a two-month stay in a hospital, she was fed intravenously and gained 30 pounds. She returned home for Thanksgiving that year. Although she felt that she was cured, Richard says she just didn't look well and he told her so. The additional weight of 30 pounds added back suddenly on a body that had been underweight for so many years further strained her weakened heart, and she died of heart failure on the morning of February 4, 1983. She was just 32 years old, a month shy of her 33rd birthday. Following Karen's death, Richard returned to the studio and worked on his and ...
