REDIFFUSION START UP WITH ADASTRAL IDENT

This is the Start up music with the Picasso line up caption followed by the Rediffusion Adastral ident which opened the London ITV station in the sixties up until it lost its' franchise in 1968. It has been re-created using some original audio. The picasso line up caption has been re-created from the original Croydon transmitted caption and the revolving Adastral Rediffusion ident has been re-created to gain the highest quality. Altough my Master version rotates the Adastral smoothly, I do note that the You Tube compression has introduced a slight judder in the rotation. It was usual to use the black background adastral for start up, but the 7 second prgramme ident was always against a grey background. The commanding voice announcing the station is Redvers Kyle, who was an announcer for Associated-Rediffusion from February 1956 until the company, by then called Rediffusion London, lost its franchise in 1968. He then moved to the new Yorkshire Television, where he remained for a quarter of a century until his retirement in 1993. The Adastral from Rediffusion London revolves anti-clockwise, whereas the original Associated-Rediffusion adastral revolved clockwise.
