The Beatles Rain (2009 Stereo Remaster) (Original Promotional Video)

Join the official TheQuarrymen58 Facebook page! www.facebook.com "Rain" is a song by the English rock band The Beatles, credited to Lennon/McCartney. It was first released in June 1966 as the B-side of the "Paperback Writer" single. Both songs were recorded during the sessions for Revolver but neither appears on that album. Written primarily by John Lennon, "Rain" has been called The Beatles' finest B-side, especially notable for its heavy sonic presence and backwards vocals, both of which were a hint of things to come on Revolver, released two months later. Three promotional films were made for the song "Rain", starring the Beatles. These videos, along with other Beatles videos at the time, sparked George Harrison to say during the Beatles Anthology, "So I suppose, in a way, we invented MTV." The inspiration for "Rain" is agreed on by Neil Aspinall, the Beatles' roadie, and John Lennon. They both described the band's arrival in Australia, marked by rain and poor weather.[6] Lennon said, "I've never seen rain as hard as that, except in Tahiti", and later explained that "Rain" was "about people moaning about the weather all the time" Recording began on 14 April 1966, in the same session as "Paperback Writer", and concluded on 16 April, with a series of overdubs before mixing on the same day. At that time, The Beatles were enthused about experimenting in the studio to achieve new sounds and effects. These experiments were showcased in their influential seventh album ...

Join the Official TheQuarrymen58 Facebook page for News, Photos and exclusive videos! www.facebook.com "Hey Bulldog" is a song by The Beatles which first appeared on the Yellow Submarine soundtrack album in 1969. Written by John Lennon (credited to Lennon/McCartney), the song was recorded during the filming of the "Lady Madonna" promotional video, and is one of the few Beatles songs to revolve around a piano riff. The song was used in an animated segment of the Yellow Submarine film which initially appeared only in European theatrical prints. It was restored and seen for the first time in 30 years for the film's 1999 re-release. To promote the reissue, Apple went back to the original footage shot for the "Lady Madonna" promo film and restructured it for use as a promotional clip for "Hey Bulldog" (as it is possible to identify what they were playing, and therefore possible to synchronize the music with the original footage).

The Beatles Hey Jude (2009 Stereo Remaster)

Join the Official TheQuarrymen58 Facebook page for News, Photos and exclusive videos! www.facebook.com "Hey Jude" is a song by the English rock band The Beatles. Credited to Lennon/McCartney, the ballad evolved from "Hey Jules," a song Paul McCartney wrote to comfort John Lennon's son Julian during his parents' divorce. "Hey Jude" begins with a verse-bridge structure based around McCartney's vocal performance and piano accompaniment; further instrumentation is added as the song progresses to distinguish sections. After the fourth verse, the song shifts to a fade-out coda that lasts for more than four minutes. "Hey Jude" was released in August 1968 as the first single from the Beatles' record label Apple Records. More than seven minutes in length, "Hey Jude" was, at the time, the longest single ever to top the British charts.[2] It also spent nine weeks as number one in the United States—the longest run at the top of the American charts for a Beatles single, and broke the record for longest stay at #1 (until the record was beaten by "You Light Up My Life"). The single has sold approximately eight million copies and is frequently included on professional lists of the all-time best songs. John Lennon - Nobody Told Me [Remastered] [HQ]

Remastered from the original 'Milk and Honey' master. This a rare music video sourced from a Laser Disc copy of 'John Lennon - Video Collection'. "Nobody Told Me" is a John Lennon song, featured as the first single released from John Lennon and Yoko Ono's Milk and Honey album in 1984. The song was originally written for Ringo Starr to include on his Stop and Smell the Roses album, but Lennon died before the song could be used. "Nobody Told Me" was Lennon's last single to reach the top ten on Billboard magazine's Hot 100, peaking at #5. The B-side features Yoko Ono's "O'Sanity", also from the Milk and Honey album. The lyrics make reference to "a little yellow idol to the north of Kathmandu" which is similar to a line from J. Milton Hayes' poem entitled The Green Eye of the Yellow God. Hayes' line was "There's a one-eyed yellow idol to the north of Kathmandu". Another line in the song is "There's UFO's over New York and I ain't too surprised", apparently a reference to a UFO sighting Lennon had back in 1974. He made reference to this in the liner notes to his 1974 album Walls and Bridges with the message: "On the 23rd August 1974 at 9 o'clock I saw a UFO - JL". The tag line "Nobody told me there'd be days like these..." is in contrast to the old saw "My mother told me there'd be days like this." The video was a clipshow, as are most posthumous Lennon videos.

The Beatles Day Tripper (2009 Stereo Remaster)

Join the official TheQuarrymen58 Facebook page! www.facebook.com The lip synced promo video from the variety show The Music Of Lennon and McCartney. "Day Tripper" is a song by The Beatles. Written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, it was released as a double A-side single with "We Can Work It Out". Both songs were recorded during the sessions for the Rubber Soul album. "Day Tripper" topped the UK Singles Chart and the song peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot 100.Under the pressure of needing a new single for the Christmas market, Lennon wrote most of the lyrics and the famous guitar hook, while McCartney helped with the verses. "Day tripper" was a typical play on words by Lennon: "Day trippers are people who go on a day trip, right? Usually on a ferryboat or something. But [the song] was kind of . . . you're just a weekend hippie. Get it?" In the same interview Lennon said, "That's mine. Including the lick, the guitar break and the whole bit." In his 1970 interview with Rolling Stone, however, he used "Day Tripper" as one example of their collaboration, where one partner had the main idea but the other took up the cause and completed it. For his part, McCartney claimed it was very much a collaboration based on Lennon's original idea.

Most of this is not my work. www.nicovideo.jp is the location of the original video, created by someone named 'Silver Rain' -- When I first saw this video on youtube, at www.youtube.com , I was quite impressed. I went about seeking out a higher resolution version for download, and eventually found it. I also found that some Japanese kid had tried to 'remake' the video by throwing still manga images on top of it. Not only were they not nearly as good as the original video, but they covered the original video pieces up, degrading the piece. I decided that their idea of remaking it was terrible, but that if one /were/ to remake or remaster it, I would do this, or that. And so the idea came. This is essentially the original video, with the blank, text-only scenes given a little animated boost. I also subtitled Archer and Shirou's lines, for the benefit of any others who don't speak Japanese. Finally, I made sure it was widescreen, not letterboxed, now that youtube supports it. This should, hopefully, be a better view than the first youtube version. -- If anyone cares to translate the Japanese text, let me know. Meanwhile, the highest quality version available can be downloaded at drop.io

The Beatles Paperback Writer (2009 Stereo Remaster)

"Paperback Writer" is a 1966 rock song recorded and released by The Beatles. Credited to Lennon/McCartney, the song was released as the A-side of their eleventh single. The single went to the number one spot in the United States, United Kingdom, West Germany, Australia, New Zealand and Norway. Written in the form of a letter from an aspiring author to a publisher, "Paperback Writer" was the first UK Beatles single that was not a love song (though "Nowhere Man", which was a single in the US, was their first album song released with that distinction). On the US Billboard Hot 100, the song was at number one for two non-consecutive weeks, being interrupted by Frank Sinatra's "Strangers in the Night". "Paperback Writer" was the last new song by The Beatles to be featured in their 1966 touring.

Join the Official TheQuarrymen58 Facebook page for News, Photos and exclusive videos! www.facebook.com "Something" is a song released by The Beatles in 1969. It was featured on the album Abbey Road, and was also the first song written by George Harrison to appear on the A-side of a Beatles single. It was one of the first Beatles singles to contain tracks already available on a long playing (LP) album, with both "Something" and "Come Together" having appeared on Abbey Road. "Something" was the only Harrison composition to top the American charts while he was in the Beatles. John Lennon and Paul McCartney—the two principal songwriting members of the band—both praised "Something" as among the best songs Harrison had written. As well as critical acclaim, the single achieved commercial success, topping the Billboard charts in the United States, and entering the top 10 in the United Kingdom. The song has been covered by over 150 artists including Elvis Presley, Shirley Bassey, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, James Brown, Julio Iglesias, Smokey Robinson, Eric Clapton and Joe Cocker, and is the second-most covered Beatles song after "Yesterday". During the 1968 recording sessions for The Beatles (also referred to as the White Album), Harrison began working on a song that eventually became known as "Something". The song's first lyrics were adapted from the title of an unrelated song by fellow Apple artist James Taylor called "Something in the Way She Moves" and used as filler while ...

George Harrison Blow Away (2009 Stereo Remaster)

I'm in a rainy day sort or mood, so here's something to cheer everyone up, that and i think it might rain here in a few! "Blow Away" was a 1979 hit single by George Harrison, taken from his eponymous album. The song is one of Harrison's most popular and beloved post-Apple singles, but also one of the simplest. Its uptempo pop sound fell far outside of the dominant genres of the era, disco and punk. "Blow Away", written on a rainy day (that's why first verses are about clouds), was included in Nuns on the Run - a comedy with Eric Idle and Robbie Coltrane. The accompanying video was a simple affair; featuring various shots of George singing the song superimposed over shots of moving clouds and land, and in some instances, singing with full sized toys (a wind-up duck; sitting on a toy dog). There are even a few quick instances of The Quiet Beatle acting silly - breaking into a quick smirk as the camera closes in, and doing a very simple dance step are two of them. As this was early in music videos, the simplistic style wasnt out of the norm; however this received nominal airplay on MTV and was featured more on VH1.

The Beatles This Boy (2009 Stereo Remaster)

"This Boy" is a song by British rock band The Beatles composed by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, and released in November 1963 as the B-side of the UK Parlophone single "I Want to Hold Your Hand". The Beatles performed it live on 16 February 1964 for their second appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. It also appears as the third track on side one of US release, Meet the Beatles! An instrumental version of "This Boy", orchestrated by George Martin, is used as the incidental music during Ringo Starr's towpath scene in the film A Hard Day's Night. The piece, under the title, "Ringo's Theme (This Boy)" was released as a single - but failed to chart in the UK - on 7 August 1964 with "And I Love Her" on the B Side, although it did reach number 53 in the American Top 100 later that year. It was also included on Martins Parlophone album Off The Beatle Track and the EP Music From A Hard Days Night by the George Martin Orchestra, released 19 February 1965. It was also included on the American A Hard Day's Night soundtrack album.

"The Night Before" is a song by The Beatles from the album Help!. It was written by Paul McCartney and credited to Lennon/McCartney. The song is performed on the Salisbury Plain in the second Beatles film, Help!. John Lennon plays a Hohner Pianet electric piano throughout the song accompanied by McCartney's ascending and descending bass lines. Lennon and George Harrison sing harmony during the end of each verse and the chorus, singing "Aaah the night before...". After the second repeat of the refrain, Harrison plays a guitar solo and a portion of that solo reappears at the end of the song.
