RIP Haley Butcher, you will be missed by many/: Someone so beautiful & angelic didn't deserve any of this. 4/1/1994-11/7/2011 She fought for her life, and she fought hard, and stayed strong throughout the whole process, and changed many people's outlooks on life. Haley Butcher is truly an angel and is missed dearly in her community, school, and worldwide because her story touched so many lives. June 17, 2011: Even worse is the pain Butcher feels, especially in her joints. Butcher takes strong pain medication like methadone to control it, but she doesn't like the side effects. "I almost want to be in pain so I can be here mentally," she said. And while Haley is scared, she keeps an optimistic view of her future. "I'm like a pretty strong girl," she said. "I think I can get through it, you know. It's just something that I'm dealing with. I'm not going to have it forever." October 27, 2011: Haley Butcher, 17, was born with a rare disease called Myelodysplasia, which stops bone marrow from producing normal blood cells. The condition can develop into a severe form of leukemia. MDS is diagnosed in only 100 children a year in the United States. On the afternoon of November 7, 2011 at 3:20pm, her kidneys failed her, and she lived her last moments on Life Support. God Bless you Haley Butcher as well as your family, and everyone else coping with this misfortune.
