This week Microsoft launched the official Xbox Live app for iOS devices on the App Store. It is called the My Xbox Live app and it allows Xbox Live members to almost everything you can do from you Xbox console. . You can read and send messages, manage your friends list, edit your profile, set Beacons, and of course, compare Achievements. Plus you can watch mobile video content and you can even edit your Avatar. But I will mention that you can't purchase avatar items on the mobile version, you'll need to jump on your Xbox or Xbox.com for that, or just use the items you already own. . And you'll probably notice that the iOS version does not have all the fancy features the Windows Phone app does, because, obviously Microsoft makes the Windows Phone. If you do happen to own a Windows Phone you can use the app as a remote to launch certain content and control it. Plus you can search your content catalog to find music, movies, or games. . The launch of the iOS version coincides with the release of the new dashboard update for Xbox Live. Though some users were experiencing issues downloading and installing the update, most, like myself, had no problems with it.
