Craig Goldy was born on November 6th, 1961 and is the guitarist for the band Dio. He first came in to public recognition while in the band Giuffria. He also played in an early version of the band Rough Cutt, which Ronnie James Dio had once produced and co-written songs for. He was featured in Hear 'n Aid - Stars project while still in Giuffria, alongside other players such as Adrian Smith and Dave Murray of Iron Maiden, Yngwie Malmsteen, Brad Gillis and others. Craig Goldy temporarily left the group Dio for the third time in 2005 after suffering a hand injury on a tour through Russia. He was then replaced by former Dio guitarist Doug Aldrich for the duration of the tour, but has since returned to the fold. Craig is an Reform Jew. He has a loyal following of young college kids more commonly referred to as Mu Alpha Chi. His main guitar is a 1957 Gibson Les Paul Black Beauty. Randall William "Randy" Rhoads (December 6, 1956 -- March 19, 1982) was an American heavy metal guitarist who is best known for playing with Ozzy Osbourne. Despite his short career, he is cited as an influence by many contemporary heavy metal guitarists. A devoted student of classical guitar, Rhoads often combined his classical music influences with his own heavy metal style. Randy Rhoads Jackson Guitar. This is a video of Randy Rhoads actual Jackson Pinstripe Flying V guitar. On September 28th, 2005 @ CSUN in Northridge, Ca. Ms. Rhoads made available to the public a viewing of Randy's Pinstripe V. I rolled down there with my video camera. Randy's guitar was there on display behind glass for about 2 weeks. This was to coincide with CSUN opening a new muscial wing which also included a museum type setting that has old instruments of all sorts dating back to the 1700's. This was also the day the names for that years RR musical classical guitar scholarships were announced. After the formal ceremonies were done outisde on the lawn,an Ozzy band played Crazy Train in honor of Randy Rhoads. Then everyone moved into the new wing devoted for music in the huge Cal State library. This was the first Jackson guitar made, 1980-81. Randy Rhoads was the guitar player for Ozzy Osbourne's "BLIZZARD OF OZZ" band & founder/former member of LA rock band Quiet Riot. Randy Rhoads - One of the best musical/metal guitarists to ever live. Randy Rhoads was a great talented guitarist in the 70's. He was one of the founders of Quiet Riot and Randy did Laughing Gas which was all the music styles he learnt in one song. He learnt Classical and Metal Guitar. Randy's solos are some of the best ever especially Mr Crowley. Randy sadly died from a plane crash in 1981. After Randy's death, the new guitarist Jake E. Lee, Ozzy and the rest of the band compiled an Album called Tribute which included all of Randy's best songs from Ozzy Osbourne. Quiet Riot made an album called The Randy Rhoads Years which compiled some of his great songs. RIP Randy! You will always be remembered for your young amazing talent at guitar. One of just one hundred and seven ES-355TD Mono's made in 1961. Thisguitar weighs just 8.70 lbs. and has a nut width of just under 1 11/16 inches and a standard Gibson scale length of 24 3/4 inches. Laminated maple body with semi-solid construction and maple central block, one-piece mahogany neck with a medium profile, and bound ebony fretboard with 22 wide jumbo frets and inlaid pearl block position markers. Headstock with inlaid pearl "Gibson" logo and pearl five-piece split-diamond inlay. Two original PAF humbucker pickups with black surrounds and outputs of 7.47k and 8.44k. ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic non-retainer bridge with metal saddles and Gibson 'Sideways Vibrola tailpiece. All hardware gold-plated. There is no fading whatsoever to the deep red cherry color. There is one very tiny area of surface loss on the back of the guitar (3/8 of an inch x 1/8 of an inch), some very fine finish checking, a few small surface marks on the side of the body and two small surface marks / indentations on the back of the neck behind the thirteenth fret. Housed in the original Gibson black hardshell case with four latches and orange plush lining (8.75).
