I attended the 10th annual RIS -Reviving Islamic Spirit- conference this December, and it was such a great success! The uplifting of spirits was brought upon 20000+ people as we all benefited from amazing advice and acquired fresh knowledge. Although videotaping wasn't encouraged, I cut a few of the most important messages, in my opinion, which I would like to share with you. Main theme/ My message to you: Islam is a religion of peace & tolerance that is opposed to slavery and incompatible with terrorism. Women are treated as equals, and animals are treated with care. If anyone says otherwise, they are not true Muslims, and should not be listened to. Of course, this is just a quick summation of the truth behind Islam. Seek more knowledge by doing your own VALID research. Do not trust illegitimate resources, and don't expect to understand the true meaning of Islam by taking certain verses without evaluating the context in which it is being used.
