With a share of the top spot in the Eastern Conference in sight, the Chicago Bulls put a hurt on the Utah Jazz on Saturday, beating them 118-100 to tie the Boston Celtics for first place in the conference. Bulls guard Derrick Rose scored 17 points in the first quarter, and the Bulls ran out to a 34-17 first quarter lead. (04.18.09) During the first meeting between the Blazers and the Rockets after a few questionable calls the crowd started to get pissed during the 4h quarter and instead of booing they decided to give their overall opinion of the officials. Another ironic thing was David Stern was at the game so he witnessed all the glorious hate towards his lovely officials. I was apparently at this game but hit my head on the wall various times last night to forget it. For the record though, Houston played a really good game and I do not blame the refs for the loss.

UCLA had lost to Ohio State 41-20 in the regular season pulls the upset of the 11-0 #1 ranked Buckeyes in the 62nd Rose Bowl game. Ohio State controlled the first half but only mustered 3 points. UCLA explodes for 23 points in the second half to win 23-10. This is one of the greatest college football upsets of all time. After a lackluster first half, the Chicago Bulls turned on the defense in the third quarter on the way to a 94-76 win over the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks were leading 50-48 at halftime but scored only 10 points in the third quarter, while Bulls guard Derrick Rose had 18 of his 34 points in the third quarter by himself. The Bulls won their 10th straight game at home, and with Boston's loss to Philadelphia moved to within one-half game of the Celtics for the top spot in the Eastern Conference. The 7-foot-6 Yao scored nine of Houston's first 11 points and finished with 24 in the Rockets' 108-81 victory over the Trail Blazers on Saturday night. It was the opener of their first-round playoff series. The Rockets led by as many as 31 points in the second half and there was simply no way the young Blazers could catch up.
