JD's Slab '59 started out as a lightly-aged guitar, but after hundreds of high-energy gigs and sessions, JD has transformed the guitar into a true Road Warrior. Because of JD's playing style, the nut has been replaced 4 times, and he's gone through 3 sets of bridge saddles. Initially shipped with a white single-ply pickguard, JD replaced the guard with a white 3-ply guard, like one of his hero's...Mike Bloomfield. I installed the RS Guitarworks Vintage Strat kit. What a difference! In this video the tone controls are on the Neck and Bridge pickup. As you can hear the bridge pickup became a little compressed with this change but the Wilde L-45's sound fantastic. I will change swap the tone to the middle at the next string change. I can't say enough about this kit. Yes it is expensive, but just listen...(and not to my bad notes...) So responsive, so smooth...massive improvement. And great customer service too. So in this case, you do get what you pay for. Other new changes on the guitar are locking tuners and Graph Tech saddles

Fender puts too much laquer on their new guitars and it doesn't let the wood sympathetically vibrate. Now, I have my dream guitar and it is priceless! Running the new Greer Brown Bomber pedal. Amp is a 6l6 loaded Hellfire 35 through a 2x12 with Scumback speakers. My RS Guitarworks E Type (esquire) with Don Mare modified Tweed Monster pickups. Awesome pedal, meant to sound like a fender brown era concert cranked up and ready to blow. Some nice tones. 'feels' very amp like...has that raw roots style tone to it. Cleans up well with the volume control. Really a FUN pedal. Couldn't help but play some Crowes and Faces type stuff with it. Another great pedal from Nick Greer!
