How to install a Wall Safe

www.deansafe.com Mary shows up how to Install a hidden Wall Safe in a closet wall. we used a DOJ approved Wall Safe from VLine. Great way to hide a pistol or drugs from the kids. For this and other wall safes go to www.deansafe.com Hi, my name is Mary, and I am with V-line Industries, and today we are going to show you how to install the V-line quick vault in the wall. Okay, the first thing we have to do is find out where our studs are. You also want to make sure there is no electrical, or plumbing behind your wall. There are two ways to do that, we can use a studfinder, which you can get at any hardware store, and that just lines up, and when you have a stud, the lights light up. Or, if you do not want to buy a stud finder, and you do not have one you just tap on the wall, and you can hear the difference between where the stud is, and where it is not. And once you locate your studs, you want to mark them and that is where we are going to cut our hole, in between those two studs. Okay, so we have our drywall knife, you can use other knives, other tools we chose the drywall knife, so basically, you take your knife, and just poke your hole in the wall. Once you get through, you are just going to cut your hole out. We just cut a small hole, so that we can double check and make sure that we do not have any electrical or plumbing back here. We did find one little cable wire, so we took Our coat hanger apart, and slid that down in here, and just double checked that we are lined ...

Burglar & Fire Safes Video with "Dye the Safe Guy"

Hi, Dye the Safe Guy here, Dye Hawley manager of SafeandVaultStore.com. Today we are going to be talking about Burglar Fire Safes. First the construction, the fire rating, the burglar ratings and finally the locks. www.safeandvaultstore.com Burglar Fire Safes have different ratings. A standard B-Rated safe doesnt have a tag on it; its just an industry standard that says there is a ½ steel in the door, ¼ steel in the body. The next rating up is an Underwriters Laboratory rating called Residential Security Container. Look for the UL tag which states RSC or Residential Security Container rating. A B-Rated safe simply means that the door is about 2 ½ thick, there is a ½ of solid steel in the door, and the body contains a combined metal thickness of around a ¼ of an inch. The bolts should be at least ¾ in diameter, and if you note here, all burglar fire safes up to TL-30 have an anchor hole so you can securely anchor the safe into concrete or wood floor. The next level of burglar rating is a UL RSC. Look for the label on the safe either on the top of the door or inside, it will state very clearly UL RSC or Residential Security Container. You notice this door is a lot thicker, its somewhere around 3 3 ½ of thickness. The bolts are a little bit larger, say ¾ sometimes a 1 youll find and the body is much thicker, somewhere between 3 and 4 inches of thickness. The Residential Security Container rating means that this safe has been tested by the best safe crackers in the world ...

Floor Safe Video with Dye the Safe Guy

www.safeandvaultstore.com Hi Dye The Safe Guy here again with Safe and Vault Store.com Today were going to talk about floor safes. There are many types of floor safes. First thing you want to understand is the fact that floor safes can be used for gold. platinum, silver, coins, jewelry. We do not recommend floor safes for anything that you want to protect from fire. Floor safes do not have a fire proof rating, some have a fire resistant rating but in most cases when we drill out a floor safe, any paper or money thats inside turns to ash. Floor safes are installed in concrete or wood and should be installed by a general contractor. Door Types Floor safes have different types of doors. For example the least expensive ones have a removable door that has a latch right here and it hooks back here on the frame of the floor safe. The larger safes have a spring loaded door as you can see here with large oversize bolts. Drop Slots For business applications most floor safes can be ordered with an optional drop slot so you can drop cash in throughout the business day and then secure it incase or an armed robber. Lock Types Most floor safes have a Group II dial combination lock. Be sure to ask that it does have a Group II Underwriters Laboratory lock. This will provide added security in the million to one chance that anyone can break the combination. We dont recommend digital electronic locks for floor safes. Why? Because when the door is shut, the lock is horizontal. You get ...

MBF5922 - www.safeandvaultstore.com.com MBF6030 - www.safeandvaultstore.com MBF6032 - www.safeandvaultstore.com MBF7236 - www.safeandvaultstore.com Hi, Dye the Safe Guy here today to talk about Mesa Gun Safes. Mesa Gun Safes is owned by George Vincente, the president and he's been a locksmith and safe technician for over 40 years. George designed and engineers these gun safes to the best quality standards today at a very reasonable price. So lets take a look at the Mesa Gun Safe. Mesa Gun Safes come either standard with a dial combination lock or a digital electronic lock at no extra cost. Mesa has 4 different safes, 3 shown here. A large 7236 model here, a smaller 5922 and a 60 x 30 which is the most common size today. Take a look at the size of the bolts on these safes, 1 1/2" inches of boltwork on all sides of the door. Also there is a 1/4" steel plate right here in the door which is very very good to prevent robbery. The body is made out of 11 gauge steel which is 1/8" of an inch thick and there is a 60 minute fire rating on all Mesa Gun Safes. Most gun safes have a 20, 30 or 40 minute fire rating, but Mesa goes that extra step and gives you that one hour fire rating. In addition, with all the heavy steel they have in their safes, they exceed the California Department of Justice gun safe standard. Mesa Gun Safes can be ordered with a gun racking configuration as you see here, or you can order a Mesa Gun Safe with all shelves. You will have 4 to 5 shelves such as you ...

How to Dial Open a Combination Safe Lock

www.deansafe.com How to dial open a group 2 mechanical combination safe lock, the easy way. Works on all Group 2 from Sargent & Greenleaf, La Gard, Kaba, and most others. 40 years of telling people how to open locks over the phone, I hope it works as well on youtube. For decades group 2 locks like the S & G and LaGard type were the locks of choice virtually every safe manufacturer in the world, including American Security (Amsec), Cannon, Browning, Fort Knox, Liberty, to name a few. Hi, my name is John Dean and I'd like to show you an easy way to open up a group two lock whether it's an S&G, Lagard, Kaba, doesn't matter. All the group two locks open up exactly the same way. Now the first thing I want you to do, trick number one is I want you to write down left, right, left, right and then next to that, four, three, two, one, that's the sequence that we are going to be using to dial this safe open, right now. To follow our sequence first thing you do is, you turn it four times to the left. You sneak up on your first number, in this case it's fifty, and you want to make sure that the crows foot is directly above it, ignore the other mark, this is the one that counts. Our second number is twenty-four you pass Twenty-four once, going to the right, pass it twice, and we're going to stop at twenty four our third time. Bang there we go. Our last number is sixty-five you pass sixty-five, once, you stop your second time. We're almost home. Now you go to the right, and right about ...

www.deansafe.com Brownings new Gun Safe the AR34F Tactical Gun safe looks like a home run. On the inside it is specially designed to handle the odd shapes and sizes and special storage requirements of tactical guns. That means its made for shorter length rifles with different shapes, unique optics and unique buttplate-to-magazine-to-muzzle dimensions. Finally a practical way to secure your AR, M-16, M4, AK, FAL, FNAR, SCAR, or whatever, in a way that makes sense and doesn't waste valuable space. It is not a beginner's safe. If you have the goods that need protection from theft and fire, this gun safe excels. If you like the look of black guns, then this gun safe rises to the top. Hi, I am John Dean with DeanSafe.com I am standing next to a new browning entry into the market, it is a tactical gun safe called the AR thirty-four F. This is unusual and unique, I have never seen anything like it before. Everybody in our store is quite excited about it. Let me give you some outside details. It has a satin black paint job which is absolutely gorgeous, very reminiscent of a lot of the weapons that you can put in this M-4s, M-14s, ARs, AKs. This unit is designed for those kind of weapons. Depository Safes Video with Dye the Safe Guy

Hi, Dye the Safe Guy here again. My name is Dye Hawley, manager of Safe and Vault Store.com. Today we are going to be talking about deposit safes. All the way from the small standard deposit safe like you see here, to a double chamber deposit safe with an extra chamber below. Over here we are going to be talking about a deposit safe that you can actually store cash doors and tills in. www.safeandvaultstore.com Deposit Safe Construction But first let's talk about the construction of the deposit safe. First you need to look for a safe that has at least a 1/4" thickness in the walls and the body. Second, look for a door that has a minimum of 1/2" thick solid steel in the door. Third make sure you have bolts that are at least 1" in diameter. Fourth, be sure that the safe has on the backside, metal that hooks around on the interior in case somebody tries to cut off the hinges. Some safes will have bolts just like this instead of a solid steel metal plate all the way down. We're looking at a safe here which is a standard front drop safe where you drop your contents here, and they fall down into this chamber below here. Notice these jagged edge teeth here. There are actually two sets of them in here to prevent anybody from fishing the money out from inside the safe with a thin wire with some stickum on it. Rotary Deposit Safes We're looking at front drop safes but there is also another type of drop safe that has a drum that actually has a large slot on the top of the safe with a ...

High Security Safes TL-15, TL-30 with Dye the Safe Guy

www.safeandvaultstore.com Hi, Dye Hawley here, Dye the Safe Guy to talk about high security safes. But first a little background. Before modern day safes, all they had was steel plate safes with a 1" steel door here and 1" of steel in the body, they were rated by Underwriters Laboratory TL-15. Higher rated safes, TL-30, have a 1 1/2" steel plate in the door and 1" in the body. About 50 years ago manufacturers came out with composite safes. Unlike steel plate safes we just saw, they also have a 1 or 2 hour fire rating. So the new UL standards (Underwriters Laboratory standards) say that the composite safes have to be equivalent to 1" of steel in the door. As you can see this door is nearly 5" thick with a combination of composite material such as this and steel in the door on the outer and steel on the inner. Composite aggregate is a special mix of concrete and other high tech materials including fiber glass and metal to stop a burglar attempt, but it also serves a dual purpose. It has anywhere from 3" to 4" of thickness of the concrete and fire retardant material. The different between composite aggregate in a high security safe is this one is 50000 PSI of density which is required by Underwriters Laboratory to meet the specification. Your every day burglar fire safe has much lighter less dense composite aggregate. Still good but not nearly as heavy duty as the high security composite aggregate. Remember at the beginning of this video we showed you the steel plate safes ...

American Security Products - The BF Series Gun Safe Video

www.safeandvaultstore.com Sitting here beside me is the most innovative product the gun safe industry has ever seen. AMSEC's new BF Burglary Fire Gun Safe which comes with a impressive list of features that no other gun safe in the industry has. Starting here with the door, this door was designed with a 1/2 inch steel plate barrier and then it has a 1" concrete fire protection mixture which we call DriLight. Drilight is an advanced poured concrete installation material that provides a dry and seamless barrier to protect from burglary and fire. Here we have a cutaway showing you the design of the door that I just explained. This is the 1/2 inch steel outer skin with a 1 inch seamless DriLight offering a fire and burglary protection barrier and then the 16 gauge inner skin behind the DriLight. Comparing a conventional gun safe door design to our BF design, the conventional gun safe design typically has a very lightweight steel outer barrier compared to our 1/2 inch solid steel plate. For the fire protection it will offer a gypsum board or also referred to as a drywall compared to our seamless poured DriLight material. With the drywall, often times when pieced together in the corner, you will get gaps in the corner of the safe giving a breakdown in it's fire protection that the DriLight does not do. The body of the BF comes with 11 gauge outer steel and 2 inches of the DriLight material and a 16 gauge inner steel liner. The total steel thickness is just over 10 gauge with 2 ...

DEFCON 19: Safe to Armed in Seconds: A Study of Epic Fails of Popular Gun Safes

Speaker: Deviant Ollam Cluebat Quartermaster Hackers like guns. Hackers like locks. Hackers like to tinker with guns and locks. And, most of the time, hackers protect their guns with high-quality locks. However, while it's one thing to own a nice gun safe protected by a high security dial, that sort of solution tends to be best for the firearms that one doesn't have in daily use. Many of us who wear a firearm as part of our daily routine opt to store and secure our carry piece in a separate, more easily-accessible way at the end of the day. This talk is an in-depth evaluation of some of the most popular small firearm lockboxes in-use today. Some rely on mechanical locks, others on biometric locks, and some offer a combination of both. But overall, they tend to fail miserably in the face of any dedicated attacker. Come and learn how your favorite gun lockbox might be preventing your toddler from having an accidental discharge, but why it's not at all likely to repel a criminal or even perhaps a curious teenager. Means of both attacking as well as improving upon the lockboxes you already may own will be demonstrated, and audience members will be invited to participate in all sorts of attacks... live and on stage! www.safeandvaultstore.com Dye The Safe Guy here. So you bought your new safe and you're ready to have it delivered. This video is dedicated to showing you what to do once the safe arrives at your home. What to expect when the safe arrives Common over the road carriers will deliver your safe curbside delivery, right at the end of your driveway. Safes that weigh between 150 - 3000 pounds have to be delivered at the curbside. If you want inside delivery, call one of SafeandVaultStores safe consultants and they'll give you a quote for bringing the safe inside your home. Inspecting your safe for damage: Hi my name is Dominic Schwebs and I'm with SafeandVaultStore.com and I have many years of receiving safes and warehousing. When your safe arrives, the truck driver will lower it down with the liftgate and it's your job to inspect the safe for any rips, tears, abrasions or scratches to the packaging. If you look at the safe and there is no rips, tears or scratches and it looks good then you will sign the Bill of Lading. A Bill of Lading is a document which transfers the safe into your possession once signed. As you're inspecting the box and you notice this tear or this scuff, then you want to inspect the safe to look for any scratches or minor dents that can be repaired. You want to notate on the Bill of Lading the damage and make sure to put as much detail as you can in the body of the Bill of Lading. Gun Safe moving. pallet removing. & leveling. Tricks of the trade

www.deansafe.com Shows Gun Safe moving, pallet removing, & leveling. Tricks of the trade Now on a curbside delivery. You are not going to have the luxury of having a pallet jack, so we are not using that today. What I would like to show you, is how to install this safe into your garage, because this is your average scenario it gets dropped off in your driveway, your truck driver has left, and you are left to do the rest of the work. So I am going to use an apparatus that you can probably get from your garage or your neighbor, a standard refrigerator dolly. So what you want to do is line it up to the side, push away from you on the top of safe, and push in at the bottom at the same time, efficiently installing the refrigerator dolly. Then what you want to do is come to the other side, what you do not want to do is push from the center, you do want to push from the top. Pushing from the top makes the wheels catch, and you just go on with it, just like that. Now, that is really just as easy as it gets. What I'd like to show you is how to get the refrigerator dolly out. Push up on the top, pull out on the bottom and you are clear. Most manufacturers actually bolt their safes right to the pallet you are going to need a few tools. I like to have a pair of vice grips, a phillips head, and or regular screwdriver, and at least a couple of sockets and a ratchet. Then what you want to do is inspect the inside and see exactly how it's done. Now when unbolting a safe from the pallet ...

Gardall FB Series Burglar Fire Safe Video with "Dye the Safe Guy"

www.safeandvaultstore.com www.safeandvaultstore.com www.safeandvaultstore.com Hi, Dye the Safe Guy here to talk about one of Gardall's great Burglar Fire Safe lines, the "FB Series". Here you see them in one cubic foot size, two cubic foot size and a three cubic foot size. Little known fact about this series it's one of the best values in a Burglar Fire Safe today and here's why. Look at these 1 1/4" bolts in this door. Also the Gardall has at least a 1/2" of solid steel in the door and the body is made of at least a 1/4" of solid steel. The real bonus is that the Gardall has a two hour fire rating and a one hour fire rating so it's been tested twice. It also has a 30 foot drop test and an explosion test. Another great feature of this safe is that it's been tested by Underwriters Laboratory with a Residential Security Container rating. What that means is that they have actually tested this safe against burglary. We recommend this safe for up to $30000 of value without a burglar alarm and up to $50000 with a monitored burglar alarm. Another nice feature is Gardall includes a concrete anchor bolt to anchor the safe securely into your floor. All the Gardall FB Series safes have adjustable shelves inside the safe. One word of caution, if you're going to store more than $30000 without a burglar alarm or $50000 with a burglar alarm in your home or business, then you might want to take a look at our high security burglar fire safes www.safeandvaultstore.com which start at ...

LA GARD LG Basic digital electronic safe lock changing combo and battery

How to change the combination and battery on the LaGard "LG Basic" safe lock. For instructions on this and other electronic digital safe locks, go to www.deansafe.com The La Gard lock is seen on many Gun Safes because of its high security, quick access, and user friendly features. Often found in gun safes, ATM's, Cannon Safe used this lock exclusively with great success for years Hi, my name is John Dean, I am with Dean Safe, I want to show you, and introduce you to the LaGard LG Basic lock. This is an immensely popular lock. It is a high security digital lock and I want to show you three things. I want to show you how to open it, how to change the combination, and how to replace the batteries. It will only take a second to do all three. First we will open it, I have this set to one, two, three, four, five, six. And there it is, the safe is open. It is that simple. Now, in order to change the combination, it is always recommended that you throw the bolts out, and we're going to hit six zeros (000000), then your existing combination, you already know what that is, and new combination, the new combination, we have to input it two times, so we are going to do this. 0,0,0,0,0,0(Six zeros) That wakes it up into the change mode. You put in the old combination one, two, three, four, five, six. We wait a half a heartbeat, then you put in the new one. Six, five, four, three, two, one, twice, six, five, four, three, two, one. Now, it's complete. Well, now we will give it a test ...

Wall Safes Video with Dye the Safe Guy

www.safeandvaultstore.com Hi, Dye the Safe Guy here today to talk about wall safes. First we are going to talk about the types of locks and then we are going to talk about the different types of wall safes that are available on the market today. Wall safes come in two different types. Usually a burgar safe like this wall safe here which is steel only. Typically 3/16" metal in the door and fits in between 16" studs and will go about 6" or 7" deep on a 2 x 6 wall. Then there is a burglar fire wall safe that gives you an added one hour fire protection. The burglar fire wall safes require that you have at least 15" or 16" depth behind the wall. Otherwise they won't work. And you also have to support it from the back with 2 x 6's or 2 x 8's to make sure that the added weight that's sticking out behind the wall is supported. Most wall safes come with two types of locks. Either a dial combination lock that has a factory preset combination. Or, a digital lock as you see here that you can set your own combination on. Another unique quality of the First Alert and Mesa Safe wall safes is they are adjustable so you can actually telescope the back of safe up to 7 1/2" deep if you have a 2" x 6" wall that will allow you an extra 1 1/2" behind the safe thereby giving you more room inside the safe. A very unique feature of the Mesa and First Alert wall safes. We recommend that you have a professional contractor, general contractor install the wall safe between the studs in your home ...
