Taheya Carioca and Fairouz (Saidi)
From the 1951 film Fairouz Hanem (the Lady Fairouz) Taheya Carioca and child star Fairouz do a Saidi number and pretend to be people from the Said in an attempt to trap the very violent leader of a gang of criminals. The really long wind instrument being played in the beggining of the clip is called an Argoul. This song is an old traditional Egyptian folk song. If you listen carefully you will hear that it's the same tune that is used in Abdel Halim Hafez's El Touba. In fact the first line of this song shares the same lyrics as El Touba ( Ana Kol Ma Agoul El Touba Ya Boye) Its also the same tune as the first part of the Egyptian traditional song Ya Bahaia (not Baligh Hamdi's Ya Bahaia, but the older one) It's a traditional tune that appears often in old Egyptian movies.
