SPICER PARK DEDICATION CEREMONY - 08-23-08
Spicer Park was officially opened for public use on August 23, 2008. It was built by the Spicer Family to honor the Spicers who have given so much to the community of Samburg, TN and the Reelfoot Lake area. It was dedicated especially to JT Spicer and has a memorial with a plaque bearing his name in the center of the main portion of the park. Displaying creative craftsman by his oldest son Glen Spicer, the Park is 8000 square feet and features two large benches, two archways, two trash receptacles, two picnic tables and more featuring concrete uniquely crafted to resemble trees complete with bark and knots. Spicer Park is located in Samburg, TN on the banks of Reelfoot Lake, across the street from the family owner Southshore Resort and adjacent to the town's only restaurant, the Pier. Free for public use, the Spicer family hopes you will visit Spicer Park soon, and often and they wish to express their appreciation for all who helped make this park a reality.
