Pretty much the same combo from a Toyota Camry I've seen these plenty but never really sat inside to really get a feel of them. So yeah I had high hopes as the 1st generation tC actually had a half decent interior but I was extremely disappointed with the Interior which IMO it's quite possible one of the worst interiors I've encountered in a late model car recently.

Many elements within the interior were of much higher quality, more tightly finished & better made. If theres anything this car lacks what the 2011 has, it's the more refined engine, the throatier exhaust, the the optional 6AT whereas the optional auto here is a 4AT. Forgot to check if this steering wheel is damped so I need to check up on that

Here is the fully custom designed front-end of my 2006 Scion tC: Noir. Watch this in HD if you can please. The screen is a portrait oriented 10.4 Lilliput touch-screen Design and programming of the skin was done by me - it sits on top of the Centrafuse front-end entertainment system. The HVAC integration to the computer was done by 2 other fellow programmers, & designed by me. Steering wheel controls are controlled via a JoyCon hardware The CarPC that's running Noir & Centrafuse [within Windows XP] is in the trunk.

Scion tC's are great little cars. Lots of fun to drive and very popular. Unfortunately, they seem to suffer from a common defect. With enough use, the rear hatch release panel will break off due to the flimsy plastic anchor points beneath the panel that get brittle with age and weakened with use. I've seen several tC's around my own town that have had the panels broken. New, color matched replacement panels are available online as of this posting for $108 plus shipping, but of course, you need to be able to disassemble the handle switch, logo, etc. and re-install on the new panel, which is not only throwing money down the tubes, but time consuming and a hassle. I created this vid as a DIY tutorial if you want to repair it yourself for around $5 and about a half hour to hour of your time. A little more care with future use as described in the vid and the repair should hold indefinitely. One thing I failed to mention in the vid is to be sure that the release switch wire that goes to the handle grip is tucked out of the way before refastening the panel. You don't want to pinch these wires for obvious reasons. Update: In order for the simple repair shown in the video to work, you need to retrain yourself on how to open the rear hatch. If you have a spoiler, simply squeeze the handle release with one hand and use the other up under the spoiler to lift the rear hatch. Otherwise, reach underneath the hatch and lift the panel via the lower lip of the panel (as shown in the vid <b>...</b>

It's been a while since I've filmed anything and on my cycling route, I saw this clean TC w/ a great drop and rim choice. At the time I didn't have my camera, but today fortunately it was still there. =) I love the rim choice, size and coilover setup. Pretty much this TC is all stock except for a few choice upgrades that compliment its already great design out of the box.
