Rome Total War Online Battle #1885: Scipio Africanus vs Julius Caesar
"What if" battle between Scipio Africanus and Julius Caesar. This is a fun (not exactly accurate) thing I do every once in awhile for Rome Total War. I created two historically-themed armies (out of 10000 denarii). For both Julius and Scipio's armies, I eliminated the auxiliary elements so that we're left with just the core Roman contingents. So no cavalry for Caesar. No Numidian cavalry for Scipio either. Stuff like that. I take the role as Scipio Africanus this time. My opponent becomes Julius Caesar. Map: Southwater Denarii: 10000

Please read this, especially if you havent seen the movie or read the book! So I just reread Thief Lord (well, I finished it two weeks ago, but anyway) and got an idea for a vid. This video takes a place after Prosper has found out that Scipio lied about himself, given that they had already fallen in love with each other. So now Prosper is sad and disappointed and doesnt know what to think about Scip and what to say him when they meet next time (and as you may know, they will meet in Idas house, when they're trying to steal the wing in the following night.) So the black and white scenes are what Prosper's thinking and the color scenes, in the beginning and in the end, are the.. eh, reality..? Anyway, the vid is quite short (and badly edited) again. I don't know what makes me make so short vids, maybe the songs I use are too short (or maybe I'm just too impatient - this time I used only half the song, I removed the second half, ya know.) Ok, so i've listened Coraline soundtrack like a much, and thought this song would be nice for a Scip/Prop. This was also quite quickly made, so there are some parts that could be better, but anyway, try to enjoy. :3 Oh and by the way, i had some problems with naming this - the song is actually called "The Party", but it didn't fit the video (or what you think? Cx), so that's why it isn't in the name. Haha, i know that isn't interesting for you. I don't own either the song (it's by Bruno Coulais) or the clips.

I don't recall ever coming across this modest 1952 recording (originally on Westminster), but having heard it I can safely put it on a par with the 1949 Cetra set with the superb Cesare Valletti and Sesto Bruscantini (albeit with a somewhat hard-edged Alda Noni), which is the first choice for this opera. (Why are the other, stereo-age recordings so lacking?) This performance is light, unexaggerated, and airy. Argeo Quadri's tempos tend to be leisurely, but nothing drags, and this allows the plot to unfold in a sane, story-telling manner. Even the usually breakneck-for-its-own-sake buffo duet in Act 3 is well articulated, and elsewhere the lack of mugging and rushing brings out the score's niceties. There are no show-offy, end-of-aria interpolated high notes, and they're not missed; what we get is the music without overstated star turns. Melchiore Luise is a not-very-deep-bass Pasquale, but he's colorful and accurate and he conveys the character's vanity as well as sadness. Scipio Colombo's Malatesta is superb--the best available. He's smooth and rhythmically right on the money, with a nice <b>...</b>

Ok, this video really has three parts. First get a mental time frame of around 6 months for all the events in this video. Things don't happen as quickly as the editing would suggest. 00:00-00:13 Back Story Prosper and Scip used to go out... (off screen) it wasn't working so we start with them breaking up. Prosper goes back to the orphanage where he meets Klaus. They become friends and decide to leave together. They start a life on the streets and officially begin going out. 00:13-00:52 I Want You Scipio refuses to let go of Prosper and is slowly becoming obsessed. Meanwhile Prosper and Klaus are falling deeper in love.
