*READ BELOW FOR MORE INFORMATION* -Software and Getting Started Guide at- sethsandler.com -What's a MTmini?- ------------------------------------- A Multitouch Mini, MTmini for short, is a cheap, small, portable multitouch pad. It can be used for all different purposes including: drawing, OS navigation, multitouch operation, games, entertainment, experimentation, and more. I created the Multitouch Mini to show people how something that seems complicated or 'magical' can be made simply and at low cost. -How's it Work?- -------------------------------------- When you place your fingers on the surface, shadows are created where your fingers are placed. The webcam sees these shadows and sends the image to the tracking software which tracks the shadows as they move on the touch surface (paper). All you need is a room with (at least) some light; a dark room will not work. Even room lighting gives the best results. Lights shinning from multiple directions onto the multitouch pad gives better results than lights from one direction. The bigger brother of the MTmini, the Multitouch Biggie (MTbiggie) is a low-cost multitouch solution using: - 2 chairs - acrylic sheet - paper - projector - mirror - infrared camera (you can make one from a normal webcam) - computer Shadows on the surface are tracked and sent to multitouch applications as touch positions. This technique is known as "front diffused illumination". While this isn't the most robust and stable multitouch solution, it is a general introduction to the technology. multitouch table mtmini configured to be used as multitouch midi control surface with reason. thanks to seth sandler for the awesome tutorial to build the mtmini. visit www.sethsandler.com and nuigroup.com if u want to build one for yourself. also thanks to mr greg kullum for the surface-editor application. how it works? its a simple box which has a webcam inside,the camera tracks the fingers touching the surface, an application called 'community core vision' picks up the images and transforms them into tuio signals, not the surface editor application takes these as input and moves whichever control is touched. and then sends out the assigned midi message. which is picked up by reason...and voila...a multitouch control surface. my template can control nn19,nnxt,subrtactor,thor,maelstrom--- mod envelopes,amp envelopes,filters,level,pan etc. redrum levels,pan,and u can play drums on the surface. im putting in more functions into it. let me know if u need the reason-controlsurface file for surface-editor.

Slider: A Dynamic Multiplayer Game by Seth Sandler This games uses reactivision software, along with Flash, to detect symbol fiducial block movements. The game is played by moving these symbols on a table. Players can enter and exit the playing field at any time. The game adapts to the number of players. The lower the score the better; the first player with a score of 12 ends the game. Future plans include: Projecting directly on the surface. Panel dotykowy domowej roboty zgodny z TUIO. Zainspirowany MTmini Setha Sandlera. Zamiast pudełka użyłem akwarium (podziękowania dla chomika za użyczenie go). Konstrukcja jest absolutnie prowizoryczna, ale grunt, że działa - zazwyczaj. Jak to działa? Światło przebija się przez papier i wpada w obiektyw kamery. Ten obraz jest zapisywany w CCV jako domyślny. Jeśli nad kartką znajdzie się jakiś przedmiot, pojawi się cień - najciemniejszy będzie w miejscu dotknięcia kartki. CCV po odpowiednim skonfigurowaniu wychwytuje cień i odnajduje opuszki palców. W bardziej rzetelnych konstrukcjach wykorzystuje się zmodyfikowane kamery internetowe wychwytujące tylko podczerwień. Szkło, na którym znajduje się papier jest podświetlone na krawędziach diodami IR. Dzięki zjawisku całkowitego wewnętrznego odbicia w miejscu, gdzie palec dotknie kartki/szkła, kamera zobaczy białą plamę - pozostała część panelu jest dla kamery czarna, ponieważ podczerwień jest uwięziona w szybie. Takie rozwiązanie ma dodatkową zaletę, mianowicie można podświetlić papier projektorem i stworzyć ekran dotykowy. Kamera firmy Krzak & Synowie, laptop Asus K52JC. Custom designed and built 8 red laser beam laser harp. This video shows the harp playing a 'jam session' programs that combines many of the possible ways to use and trigger wave files via breaking the laser beams. The sound can be triggered instantly, and for a moment, as well as as a play to end file, or as a start with first break, stop with next one, and then with a third touch, to change the file being played. there is also sevral loops being triggered in this sample, that give the back beat to the mix. Created by Glenn Hill, of Mountain Glen Harps, for a Children`s Hospital in Virginia USA. Just installed, in early Sept 2008. System uses OptiMusic WINXP MIDI controller and software. Eight low powered red lasers, used in this harp to be totally safe with small children,(FDA approved for public installation and use). If a fog or mist was to be used, then these lasers would be visible in beam transit. This harp is mounted on a totally self-contained power and equipment cabinet that contains the laptop computer, MIDI controller and stereo sound system that allows the harp to be played.
