Sheryl Sandberg, Barnard College Commencement 2011

Facebook's Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg delivered the keynote at Barnard College's 119th Commencement ceremony. Addressing approximately 600 members of Barnard's Class of 2011, Sandberg implored the young women to "never let your fear overwhelm your desire. Let the obstacles in your path be external not internal. Fortune does favor the bold and you'll never know what you're capable of if you don't try." Sandberg also received the Barnard Medal of Distinction, the College's highest honor, alongside: Sylvia Rhone, President of Universal Motown Records; Roberta Guaspari, renowned advocate for music education in public schools; and artist Jenny Holzer, celebrated for contributions to the American conceptual art movement.

Sheryl Crow - Behind Blue Eyes

No one knows what it's like To be the bad man... To be the sad man... Behind blue eyes. No one knows what it's like To be hated... To be fated... To telling only lies. But my dreams - They aren't as empty As my conscience seems to be. I have hours, only lonely... My love is vengeance That's never free. No one knows what it's like To feel these feelings Like I do... And I blame you. No one bites back as hard On their anger. None of my pain and woe Can show through. But my dreams - They aren't as empty As my conscience seems to be. I have hours, only lonely... My love is vengeance That's never free. When my fist clenches crack it open Before I use it and lose my cool. When I smile tell me some bad news Before I laugh and act like a fool. If I swallow anything evil Put your finger down my throat. If I shiver please give me a blanket. Keep me warm...Let me wear your coat No one knows what it's like To be the bad man... To be the sad man... Behind blue eyes.

Sheryl Crow - "It Don't Hurt" - 1999 - best live version I've seen yet. Lyrics

Sheryl Crow - It Don't Hurt. Live. 1999. This particular performance has the attitude & passion I always thought this song was supposed to have. Nice spoken intro by Sheryl and a really high-powered ending. (Watch as she tosses her guitar pick away at the end of the song.) Lead guitar by Peter Stroud. Amazing intensity on drums by Jim Bogios. Great supporting vocals & bass guitar by the very cool Tim Smith. Keyboards by Mike Rowe. Lorenza Ponce on violin. Matt Brubeck on cello. Sheryl Crow - Redemption Day (HQ)

Songwriter: Sheryl Crow I've wept for those who suffer long But how I weep for those who've gone Into rooms of grief and questioned wrong But keep on killing It's in the soul to feel such things But weak to watch without speaking Oh what mercy sadness brings If God be willing There is a train that's heading straight To heaven's gate, to heaven's gate And on the way, child and man, And woman wait, watch and wait For redemption day Fire rages in the streets And swallows everything it meets It's just an image often seen On television Come leaders, come you men of great Let us hear you pontificate Your many virtues laid to waste And we aren't listening What do you have for us today Throw us a bone but save the plate On why we waited til so late Was there no oil to excavate No riches in trade for the fate Of every person who died in hate Throw us a bone, you men of great There is a train that's heading straight To heaven's gate, to heaven's gate And on the way, child and man, And woman wait, watch and wait For redemption day It's buried in the countryside It's exploding in the shells at night It's everywhere a baby cries Freedom ..........
