BYU Crescent Jazz Festival ~ Bobby Shew on Maynard's version of People
Bobby's one of the greatest players on Earth. For this particular concert, it seems all of the guest soloists were having a slightly off night (one even had me take his version of the concert off of YouTube because he thought it was detrimental his reputation), but it just goes to show how hard Maynard's music really is to play, no matter how good you are. Still, all in all, a good performance by a great musician.

landofkarda.blogspot.com Hesen Zirek (also spelled: Hasan Zirak) (1921-1972) was a great Kurdish singer and musician. He was born in Hermêle, a small village around Bukan in Eastern Kurdistan. He showed his talent for singing in his early age. His title ''Zirek'' literally in Kurdish means: one who got a clear and pure warbling voice (from the root ''zire'' and ''zirandin''); the name ''Ziryab'' too shares the same root. In 1953, he left for Iraqi Kurdistan and recorded a great number of songs in Kurdish for the Kurdish section of the Baghdad broadcasting station. In 1957, when he returned to Iranian Kurdistan for cooperation with music band of the Kurdish radio station in Kermanshah, he recorded many Kurdish songs. Hassan Zirek died from cancer at age 51 in June 26, 1972 and was buried around his native city Bukan, on Nalishkêne mountain one of the most famous mountains of the region which lies close to the city. For sale today is a great condition Silver Yamaha 6310ZS trumpet in great shape. I took it in as a recent trade towards a new Shires Bb trumpet I was selling (I am an authorized SE Shires dealer) and the horn is great. It has had the original waterkeys replaced with the Amado waterkeys. It's in fantastic shape and plays great. I really dig these 6310z's a lot (even more than the new 8310's) I'm using my ACB 3B (deep) cup mouthpiece on this clip.
