Ronald Pemberton, 83, used his Peugeot to push a Ford Ka which had parked in front of his lock-up. The incident caused chaos as the Ka was shunted into the road outside a primary school. Two weeks later he was caught repeating the offence outside Cabot Primary School in St Paul's, Bristol, by pushing a silver Mazda into the road.

Steam Locomotive 3801 shunting at Sydney Terminal
Captured 17th March 2007, we first see diesel loco 4916 haul the Cockatoo Run heritage cars into Sydney Terminal (Central) platform 4. Meanwhile, the famous 3801 is waiting on the middle road, shunts forward and then propels back to couple onto the cars. Interestingly, a Millennium Train arrives on platform 6 in the background.

Loco DE24 353 comes off Mersin depot to attach to the stock of the 17:50 to Iskanderun. The shunter, wearing "high visibility" black trousers and a dark blue shirt, no gloves, no hat and soft shoes, rides on the front of the loco then dismounts as it approaches the train, runs between the buffers and couples the loco to the stock. As he does so DE24 253 departs with the 17:20 Mersin - Islahiye. The shunter emerges from beneath the train and jumps up to the footsteps of DE24 253 as it passes by. As that train passes, the ECS for the 17:50 departure sets off after it. The shunter jumps down and changes the points as soon as the 17:20 has passed over, the 17:50 stock then following into the same section before setting back into Mersin station. "Don't try this one at home children!"

Reverse train out of siding and a good distance down line, keeping the siding switch open. Step 3. Move the train forward at speed. Step 4. Disconnect the whole train from the locomotive when the train reaches a good speed, and just as the locomotive speeds into the siding, throw the switch on the mainline so the rest of the train rolls down the mainline. Step 5. Reverse the train out of the siding. Step 6. Chase the train of hoppers downline, and then bring the whole lot back down to the quarry. 18-9-2006.

Bobadilla Estación: RENFE Class 333 diesel locomotive shunting action in Andalucía/Spain
This rebuilt RENFE class 333 locomotora is shunting some gravel cars at Bobadilla Estación in Andalucía in southern Spain. These diesel locomotives were built in the 1970s and refurbished from 2000-2005 by Alstom using PRIMA technology. Since Vossloh bought the company from GEC Alstom in 2005, the locomotive also has a Vossloh sign on its side. Engine: General Motors GM 16-645-E-3 with 3300 hp (2500 kW)

West Coast Railway Shunts at Carnforth on 24th May 2009
This is a video showing how the shunting is done to get train in and out of West Coast Railway depot at Carnforth. Video was filmed on 24th May 2009. 1st train used is 47798+47786 with 5Z48 1258d Doncaster West Yard to Carnforth WCR. Train has to be split, then 47798 takes the 1st portion into the depot. After leaving stock in depot, the class 47 then leaves the depot to get the 2nd portion. Finally after the 2nd portion is in the depot, the class 47 departs the depot to get the last coach and 47786. 2nd train then arrives at Carnforth, 57601 with 5Z46 1348d Crewe DRS to Carnforth WCR. Here the train is split and the same movements are then carried out as the same as the first train. The layout at Carnforth for the shunt move is really straight forward. 1. The train enters the goods loop behind the station. 2. Guard splits the train (due to length of F&M siding). 3. 1st portion draws forward into the F&M siding. 4. Then once in the F&M Siding, train reverses into the WCR depot. 5.Once stock in the WCR depot the loco will depart the depot into F&M siding. Then back into the goods loop for the 2nd portion. Moves 3 and 4 repeated for the 2nd portion.
EOR Shunting at Ongar
Some footage of shunting movements at Ongar during May and June, using D2170, mainly to place D6729 over the pit as part of its 'B' Examination. Then to position it to receive its new battery set. The 'B' Examination is now complete and D6729 is now back in traffic. Our collection of engines must not be forgotten; Class 37 D6729 and Class 03 03170 will be in action, providing cab rides for a small fee -- with proceeds going towards the restoration of the railway. You can experience first hand the thrill of riding in the cab of a BR Class 37, a 108 ton machine which, when new, was based at nearby Stratford depot, and used to haul express trains from Liverpool Street to destinations in East Anglia. Hot and cold refreshments will be available from the catering stand, and there will be the opportunity to learn more about how we are progressing towards re-opening, the future plans for the line, and how to join our friendly team. Bluebell Railway - No' 73136 Shunting goods wagons in Horsted Keynes North yard. The train was a special working for training purposes (new guards) and only ran between Kingscote and Horsted Keynes. If you love the clatter and clank of goods wagons being shunted then you should love this. Things of note are; 1) The brake van being uncoupled and left on No 2 road. 2) The Signalman coming over for the "token" and discussing with the crew what actions they are planning. 3) The brake van "running around" using gravity.

Interail locomotive 42206 is seen at the Dynon Freight yards (Melbourne) shunting container wagons delivered earlier in the morning by a QR National (QRN) freight train. Interail is part of QR National railways. The 422 Class were delivered to their original owners, the New South Wales Government Railways during 1969 & 1970 and. The locomotive has an EMD 16-645E engine and features a drivers cab on both ends of the locomotive, a feature that became common on NSW locomotives for the next 30 years.
