We all know that boxing is a very limited martial art and offers almost no defense against grappling tactics, limited to only a few punch variations (no palms, hammerfist, elbow, ect..)contains very little trapping, and weak clinching methods. BUT....it develops great awareness, head-movement, timing, cadence, foot speed, and good habit like keeping your chin down and your hands up. Like all martial arts, I really respect boxers and boxing itself. My motto in life is to "try" first, and judge second. I respect all styles of martial arts, and really enjoy melding in techniques and aspects to further enhance my xingyi. The good habits I have learned in boxing have brought my xingyi striking and overall stance work more potent. Thank you to all Joe, kevin, the BRC and everyone else over the years who gave me pointers in boxing. Slipping is deffinately an art and takes years to master. Guys like james toney, Floyd mayweather, Jack Dempsey, these guy really knew how to avoid and counter instantly. A good counter punch is devestating and will knock your opponents brain into outer-space. lol The brain just isnt ready. constantly evolving. Constantly er-evalutating myself. - Randy
