The cells are tabbed and assembled into strings of 13 and 3 strings make one panel of approximately 20 volts. I use 2 sets of 3 strings to make 2 outputs from one panel on a 4'x8' textured glass sheet reclaimed from an old solar heater. The cells are taped to the back of the glass making sure all surfaces are covered with tape. The frame is 2x2 with a groove cut into one side that fits over the edge of the glass leaving 3/4" lip under the glass for the 3/4" faced styrofoam sheet.

Diode's have a single white line on the end which designates the front, so just wire the solar panel to the side without the white line! Next, wire the other side of the diode to the phone's positive battery prong (this should be marked on the phone itself). When that is done take the negative end of the solar panel and wire it to the negative battery prong on the phone. Now pop in the battery and close up the phone!
