Redneck Log Splitter
So here's our totally awesome log splitter, this thing makes cutting firewood a breeze. Powered by a 4hp gas engine, the big wheel is turned by a small rubber tire to allow it to slip in the event that anything jams in there. Since everyone's telling me that I'm guaranteed to lose life or limb by running this thing please donate to my hydraulic splitter fund by sending funds to chalackd (at) yahoo.com via paypal. Huskee 22ton Log Splitter
This is the 22ton huskee from tractor supply and i wanted to upload a video to show people how powerful the splitters are. I just paid $1094 for this one and the 35 ton is $1894. I didnt see why to pay the extra money so i got the 22ton.. anyone that is thinking about buying a 22ton it should be all you will ever need. Updated Information (12/15/2009) This splitter does just fine for me. Last winter when i took the video i made $14015 That is 84 loads which is 126 Cords i split last year and this season so far I have split 35 cords and this splitter is still running strong. The purpose of the video was to show what this splitter could do THAT is why I was splitting such BIG Pieces. I dont normally split logs of that size, did it only for demo purpose. Thank you and hope this helps out because there was nothing out there when i was trying to see what these splitters could.
Selfmade Log splitter
This is a video of my self made log splitter. I designed it and fabricated it myself. The Engine is a 11hp Chinese copycat Honda which works great. It has a 2 Stage 16gmp Barnes pump,5"bore 24"stroke cylinder; 2way detent valve. I used a 6,5"x8"x6" x 24lbs wide flange I beam. Everything except the engine , pump,valve,cylinder,axle was custom build. I will be making a step by step slideshow and a video explaining where some of the components were purchased from. The Conclusion is : Nothing can stop this machine since it has a shap cutting blade which litteraly cuts trough knots rather than splitting. I calculated that the cylynder produces 30 tons of force @ 3000psi and I can split logs up to 25 " long. In the video the engine is opreating at 1/3 trottle (to save gas).At faster RPM the cylinder moves a lot faster but faster speed means more work for you ! I'm 100% satisfied with my design since the machine can be operated from both sides with plenty of room to work and most important of all the engine is positioned so that the hot air and fumes generated are not blown towards the operator like many machines in the stores. Cost: under $1000 CHECK OUT the ADDS at the bottom of the video if you need hydraulic parts for your splitter. Their prices are very good compared to other websites.

Wood Splitter run by Tractor PTO
I bought this used wood splitter that works 100% better than I thought it would. I'm not sure they make them like this anymore, but if they do they work great. It has a Stickler Cone on the end, which I know you can buy. I thought it might be very dangerous, but with some precaution it is not. I do have a long lever hooked on the PTO shaft that I can pull and turn off from behind the splitter. You must have a long enough piece of wood to "catch" on the ground. This was a piece of stringy white elm and it split it quite easily.

This is a home made log splitter I made in my spare time. I bought the metal at a scrap yard for $0.15 cents a pound. I used a Lincon 225 welder, Chop saw, hand grinder and a acetylene torch in the build. The frame started with piece of pipe for a axel. Then I welded new hubs on the end. I put used wheels and tires on it. I made a frame out of 2 X 2 square tubing and put a floor on made out of pieces of 1/8" diamond plate steel. Well you can watch the video for the rest. I want to thank all the people that posted videos on YouTube of their splitters. I watched them before I started mine. I am in Tennessee. This is my first video, so if the quality is bad I am sorry.
