24x8 prop, quite fast on landing, and slowing it down with spoilerons. You can see the plane's altitude dropping when the short bursts of spoilerons are used as air brake.
How to setup flaperons & spoilerons with a Spektrum DX5E
This shows my design for a homemade servo limiter. It is used to limit the full range of a servo to allow the digital channels on a Spektrum DX5E to work with flaperons or spoilerons. On the DX5E, channel 5 and channel 6 (trainer switch) are digital on/off channels which each move the servo by 90 degrees. That might be fine for dedicated flaps, but with flaperons you need to balance the flap input with the aileron input and there is no way to do that without buying a computer radio like the DX6i. This design lets you set the "open" position of the flaps or spoilers independently from the ailerons by adjusting a potentiometer in the aircraft. Note: If anyone wants to use this then it might be worth having a fast acting diode in series with a low value resistor (say 50 ohms) between the AND gate input and ground to dissipate the -5v which can occur at the gate input. Also some power supply filtering might be good practice.

I found the Black Horse Glasair has to be flown down to a landing. Attempting a three pointer will probably result in a tip stall. When I do fly down to land I find that the usual urge to pull up on the elevator results in the model leaping into the air as the last of the lift is consumed resulting in an unsightly bounce. Using the same three position flap switch on my transmitter I have set position three to bring the flaps up and activate the spoilerons (ailerons go up) to kill any remaining lift. This video shows the set-up. All that remains is to flight test it.

Crj200 (700, 900) aileron, spoileron & roll disconnect system. The roll disconnect allows the yokes to move independently incase a flight control, cable or yoke gets jammed. First thing shown is how the aileron and spoilerons operate in normal conditions. Next the red roll disconnect handle is pulled.Then how the Rh aileron will operate from the F/Os control yoke and how the left aileron will operate with the pilots yoke. After a certin amount of time the roll priority lights will turn on as well as a caution message. Selecting the pilot or fo priority will allow there input to be the one used if both yokes are moved in opposing directions.

ROT 301 Bucharest (LROP) - Frankfurt am Main (EDDF) Observe the spoilers deployed acting as spoilerons (during descent) and air brakes (after touchdown). Also the flaps operation in landing position and retracted while taxiing. Check out the cabin crew's accent! :) Unfortunately I didn't catch the registration number but it was one of these four: YR-ASA, YR-ASB, YR-ASC or YR-ASD
