Organized by Marakana, San Francisco Java User Group hosted an event on April 13th, 2010 with Kunal Jaggi who talked about integrating GWT with Spring and Hibernate ORM. So, in addition to the standard Spring+Hibernate integration (transactions, exception handling, DAO templates, etc.) Kunal also discussed how to access spring beans via GWT's RPC facilities. This is Master Lu's Health Center's Guan Dao form. Literally translated as "Spring Autumn Big Guan Knife," it is the 24th form we learn. It is performed here by Gary Whitehead. Gary is an interesting student. I believe he's the eldest kung fu student we have. I often describe him as a cross between Jack Palance and Clint Eastwood only with kung fu instead of guns. He's hard as nails and trains regardless of injury or illness. In fact, he had open heart surgery in May of 2006, and was back in teh studio within about 3 months. His determination and perserverence really is an inspiration to all the students. You know, a kung fu school is defined by more than its forms and techniques. The people and their stories are what really create the culture of the school. One July 4th, we were doing a performance for a local small town. We were on an uneven stage on the top of two flatbeds - pretty standard. It was hot and sunny as it always is in Utah and July. Gary was performing Guan Dao, as he usually does. When he went to spin it on his hand above his head, he got blinded by the sun and the Gaun Dao slipped off. It then bounced off of his forehead and back into his hand. Gary completed the form without missing a beat. He told me later, "When that thing slipped off, I wondered, 'Where'd it go?' And when it hit my head, I thought, 'Oh, there it is.'" Fahrenheit (traditional Chinese: 飛輪海; pinyin: Fēi Lún Hǎi) is a Taiwanese vocal quartet boy band who has been active in Asia since 2005. The group consists of four members: Jiro Wang, Wu Chun, Calvin Chen, and Aaron Yan. They are managed by Comic International Productions (可米國際影視事業股份有限公司). Fahrenheit are often associated with their seniors, SHE, who are also under HIM International Music. Fahrenheit first gained minor recognition around late 2005 when their first altogether series, KO One, was broadcasted on television in Taiwan. Wu Chun joined the group later in late 2005. On December 28, 2005, Fahrenheit officially became a vocal quartet boy band. Derived from the definition of Fahrenheit, each of the four members represents a season or temperature that corresponds with their different personalities. Calvin Chen represents spring, warm; Jiro Wang represents summer, hot; Wu Chun represents autumn, cool; and lastly, Aaron Yan represents winter, cold. Each of the four members also has his respective temperature represented on the Fahrenheit scale: Calvin Chen is at 77 degrees, Jiro Wang is at 95 degrees, Wu Chun is at 59 degrees, and Aaron Yan is at 41 degrees. Each of their temperatures are separated by 18 degrees.

A request from someone, slow down the basic sword spinning technique with just one sword showing how the hand and wrist move. These are typical kung fu sword moves. I am using a Chinese Dao or Saber. It has a single edge and is made of spring steel, so heavier than the 'wushu' floppy swords, but not as heavy or sharp as a real battle ready Dao.
