*Two angles* A cashier was stabbed during the second of two convenience store robberies Sunday that police say were committed by the same man. The cashier at the store at 580 Mason Ave. was treated and released from Halifax Health Medical Center. Police said he was stabbed in the neck during the second of two robberies committed by the knife-wielding suspect. The first robbery was reported at 6:30 am at the Kangaroo Express, 799 Bill France Blvd. Police said a man jumped over the counter with a knife and demanded cash. A store worker complied and opened the cash register. The suspect fled with an undetermined amount of money. The suspect, described as a black man in his 20s with short dreadlocks, a beard and tattoos, is believed to be the same man who committed the violent robbery at 3 pm on Mason Avenue, police said. The clerk grabbed a bat and fought with the suspect but was stabbed in the neck. The suspect fled after grabbing money from the register.Police obtained surveillance video from both robberies. A $2500 reward is being offered for info leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect. Anyone with information about either robbery is asked to call police at 386-671-5100.

Laura Chavez is alleged to have flown into a rage after discovering her boyfriend at cheated while they played with her 10-year-old grandson. Police said when the boy went to bed Chavez smashed a bottle over her boyfriend's head before picking up a kitchen knife and repeatedly stabbing him. Paramedics arrived on the scene in Santa Fe, New Mexico to find the man bleeding heavily from his head, neck and right wrist area. Chavez was reportedly found sitting under the porch spattered with the victim's blood. (NBC Chicago) A large fight that led to stabbing Sunday night is the latest example of what some Boystown residents say is an alarming increase of violence in the neighborhood. A 25-year-old man was stabbed shortly before midnight at Halsted and Aldine, the Windy City Times reported. The fight, which involved close to a dozen people, was caught on video from a neighbor's balcony and posted on YouTube. It shows a man being punched and kicked by several other men. The victim later stumbles into a wall, bloodied and wounded from the attack. John Cunningham and Rob Sall recorded the video and also tried to break up the fight. "To actually watch it happening right in front of your house, leaves you shaking your head in awe," Cunningham said. "We can complain to the cops that they're not doing enough, we can complain to City Hall that they're not doing enough but at the end of the day, it's up to the citizens to become more vigilant." A recent spate of violence has caused some neighbors to create a "Take Back Boystown" Facebook page, imploring local leaders to address the problems. Over the past three weeks, three stabbings have been reported in the heart of the LGBT community, two of them near a 7-11 on Halsted and Roscoe. Lafayette police released video and audio showing Paul Spencer attacking officers before he was gunned down last month. All LPD officers were cleared of any wrongdoing by both a review board and the Tippecanoe County Prosecutor. Video from cameras mounted on the dashboard of the cruisers show what led up to their actions in the early morning hours of October 19. The camera on the dashboard reads 4:53 am when Officer Jeff Webb spots the car driven by Paul Spencer, 39. It all started with an Emergency 911 call minutes earlier. FOX Chicago News - A 25-year-old man was attacked and stabbed in the Boystown area of the Lake View neighborhood on Sunday night -- and it was caught on video. The victim was involved in a physical altercation about 11:55 pm on the 3300 block of North Halsted Street when he was stabbed, police News Affairs Officer Darryl Baety said. The Chicago Tribune reported Monday that, "Part of the attack was captured on video by witnesses who said they had a video camera handy because of recent attacks in the 3300-3400 blocks of North Halsted." Witnesses say this is the third attack in as many weeks in Boystown. Now residents are trying to take back their neighborhood by holding a number of vigils and peaceful marches. The video of the attack shows about a dozen people fighting below a tree. A group of eight to ten people appear to punch and kick an individual on the ground before the melee moves into, and eventually across, the street. The attack prompted dozens of posts on the Facebook page " Taking Back Boystown ," a page that discusses crimes and possible solutions in the Boystown area of Lake View. Just before 7 AM this morning, many Codiac RCMP Officers responded to a house on High Street for a stabbing.
