Breen needed to win the event and claim the maximum number of fastest stage times as possible to stand any chance of taking the title from Egon Kaur, who'd led the standings from the opening event of the season. Although victory on the rally was secured when Breen completed the final Myherin stage with a dominant margin of 4m36.1s over Kaur, he had to wait for the Estonian to complete the 27.88-kilometre run before he could celebrate the title in case Kaur went faster than him and deprived him of the final bonus point he needed to draw level with Kaur in the standings. With the title decided in favour of the driver with the highest number of fastest stage times during the course of the year, Breen had done enough to take the title and the 500000 Euros scholarship prize handed out to the winner. Kaur said he lost time stuck behind a slowing car on the final stage. "We pushed on the last one but we lost time and we lost the title because of this," he said. IRC 2012 | Donnelly Group Circuit Of Ireland Rally_Day 2 Highlights

Day 1 Highlights broadcast by Eurosport HD All copyrights go to their respective owners RC Circuit of Ireland day two review: Joy for Hänninen Juho Hänninen made history today when he became the first driver to win the Donnelly Group Circuit of Ireland Rally to count as a round of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge. In doing so, the ŠKODA Motorsport ace clinched his ninth victory in the series and his first IRC triumph of 2012. He also follows in the wheel tracks of his fellow Finn Pentti Airikkala as only the second overseas winner of the asphalt event. Hänninen, who is co-driven by Mikko Markkula, started day two locked in a close fight with ŠKODA UK's defending IRC champion Andreas Mikkelsen. They traded stage times -- and positions -- throughout the day and began the final loop of four stages with Hänninen leading by 2.3s. Pushing to close the gap to Hänninen, Mikkelsen got caught out in rain on the Lisburn town centre stage and slid into a hay bale. He inflicted damage to the side of his Fabia S2000, but also banged his head and was left dazed, ending his hopes of his first victory on Tarmac in the IRC for the second event in succession. He was able to recover to the runner-up spot, more than 40s behind Hänninen. Northern Ireland's Garry Jennings won the IRC Production Cup with countryman Marty McCormack clinching the IRC 2WD Cup spoils and the Colin McRae IRC Flat Out Trophy following a determined drive amid a host of setbacks. Petter Solberg jumping & crashing in WRC Rally Finland 2000

Petter Solberg´s action-packed weekend in WRC Rally Finland 2000 included flying high, setting great stage-times and eventually flying off the road in style in the famous bend in Lankamaa. In 2000 Petter drove Ford´s 3rd official Focus WRC alongside world champions Carlos Sainz and Colin Mcrae - and for the young Norwegian this particular weekend was definitely one to remember.
