Steve Jobs - Billion Dollar Hippy (BBC Documentary)

Re-uploaded here:www.youtube.com Steve Jobs Biography: Broadly considered a brand that inspires fervour and defines cool consumerism, Apple has become one of the biggest corporations in the world, fuelled by game-changing products that tap into modern desires. Its leader, Steve Jobs, was a long-haired college dropout with infinite ambition, and an inspirational perfectionist with a bully's temper. A man of contradictions, he fused a Californian counterculture attitude and a mastery of the art of hype with explosive advances in computer technology. Insiders including Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, the chairman who ousted Jobs from the company he founded, and Jobs' chief of software, tell extraordinary stories of the rise, fall and rise again of Apple with Steve Jobs at its helm. With Stephen Fry, world wide web inventor Sir Tim Berners-Lee and branding guru Rita Clifton, Evan Davis decodes the formula that took Apple from suburban garage to global supremacy. Bio: Steven Paul Jobs (February 24, 1955 -- October 5, 2011) was an American businessman and inventor widely recognized as a charismatic pioneer of the personal computer revolution. He was co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Apple Inc. Jobs was co-founder and previously served as chief executive of Pixar Animation Studios; he became a member of the board of directors of The Walt Disney Company in 2006, following the acquisition of Pixar by Disney. nma.tv Steve Jobs -- Apple's founder and innovator who revolutionized the way the world uses technology -- has died after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 56. We at Next Media Animation mourn his passing and celebrate his life. Our thoughts are with his family and his four young children. Apple and Steve Jobs have featured prominently in our animations. This was not due to enmity or ill will. It was because we admired him. We admired the way he could capture so many of our imaginations. Steve Jobs made the world fall in love with and embrace technology. Much of what Next Media Animation does -- indeed what any media company does -- would be impossible were it not for Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs Dead: RIP 1955-2011; his life and career

www.nma.tv Next Media Animation takes a look back and the life and career of Apple co-founder and chief executive Steve Jobs, who resigned that position late on Wednesday. Our tale begins with Steve Jobs dabbling in LSD and spiritual enlightenment, which Jobs describes as the "one of the two or three most important things [he had] done in [his] life". Man, look at all the colors. Hey, that gives me an idea for a company logo. Jobs would then found Apple with Steve Wozniak and a third guy who cashed out his shares waaaaaay too early, so we didn't bother to animate him. In 1984, Jobs unveiled the Macintosh and forever revolutionized personal computing. But the good times wouldn't last. John Sculley, the executive Jobs hired away from Pepsi, bounced Jobs from the company he founded. Jobs would get his revenge by starting another company, Pixar. He produced 'Toy Story' and sold the animation company to Disney for a fat profit. Jobs finally returned to Apple and defeated arch nemesis Bill Gates to become the baddest mofo in tech. Jobs was then diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and required a live-saving liver transplant. Apple now faces a threat from Google Android. Thankfully, Jobs can pass the baton to chief operating officer Tim Cook.

RIP Steve Jobs: My Thoughts

"No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true. "Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary." Steve Jobs [Stanford commencement speech, June 2005]
