Call it nuclear fashion show, or call it liquidator striptease.
The 9th of December in 2011 was the official release date for the book "Transmutation of Nuclear Waste" by Swedish Professor Janne Wallenius. As plans for a release party were forming, I was asked to make a some sort of "nuclear fashion" performance, but having spent the last 6 month doing research about the Chernobyl disaster, my thoughts soon developed further and by the time of the book release party, it had all turned into a piece of performance act. Unfortunately the video is a bit dark for viewers to see everything going on, but there is some over-obvious symbolism in there, and a glimpse of humour as well.

On March 16th 2012, Zoe Scarlett launched her first fashion collection at Switzerland's biggest rockabilly event "The Rattle'n'Roll". The show opened with a rocking band and hula dancers. Afterwhich, 7 models presented Zoe Scarlett's debut collection on stage. While at other fashion events, lithe models simply stomp towards the audience and back, at Zoe Scarlett's fashion show, even that detail was altered and made special. "I designed every single piece of my collection and also the whole show itself as a producer. I practiced for hours with the models before the event: the choreography, poses, and gestures, because I didn´t want a regular catwalk presentation. The models on stage presented Zoe Scarlett fashion in the pin-up style and movements of the 50s and impressed the audience with vivacious charm and sex appeal!" Zoe says she's proud of her models, because not all of the 7 models were professionals, but each did an awesome job. As did her team behind the curtain, who took care of all the rest. After the fashion show it was time to present the designer. The evening's host introduced her as The Queen of Burlesque, and the audience applauded enthusiastically as the the young designer appeared in a glittery, powder blue burlesque costume. Ramblings about the cultural history of beards during the so-called "Little Ice Age" that affected Europe especially through the 1500s and 1600s. Again, I was talking off the top of my head when I made this video, and after doing more research, I see that there are a lot of additional details--for instance, scientists and historians differ about just when the "Little Ice Age" officially began and ended (more disagreement about when it began; most agree it ended at the end of the 1800s), and other details. I had had the understanding that the "mini Ice Age" that brought back beards by the late Tudor-early Stuart period in England (when England colonized North America) was a separate event from that of the late 1800s, but apparently there was a larger, overarching event that included these episodes, with some fluctuation in average temperatures generally upward or downward over the course of several centuries from perhaps as early as the 1100s through the end of the 1800s, and with temperature fluctuations varying by locality in Europe.
