Superstar
Baja (Pandharinath Kamble) and Ranga (Siddharth Jadhav) are two friends sharing passion for Tamasha (rural theater). Tamasha is the legacy of their mothers, who had in their time initiated this art form in their village of Parambi. Their life takes a turn when movie star Megha (Megha Dhade) and her film unit reach Parambi for their outdoor shoot. Megha comes across Ranga and she along with her unit get an opportunity to witnesses the rehearsal of his folk art. Impressed by the talent, the producer (Rajan Tamhane) plans to use their theme for a commercial film. He agrees to make Ranga the new star opposite Megha and invites his entire team to join the film. What does life have in store for Baja and Ranga when they bring their simple yet sincere passion for art to a world driven by instant success? Will Ranga` s friendship with Baja and love for Megha survive in the face of the harsh spotlight? Will Baja and Ranga rise above the mundane or succumb under the accolades?

"Blue Angels", from the same album, was acknowledged as a UK Top 10 hit, reaching #6 in November of the same year.

Superstar: The Karen Carpenter Story - Part 1
Todd Haynes [Far from heaven, Safe] burst upon the scene two years after his graduation with his now-infamous 43-minute "Superstar: The Karen Carpenter Story" (1987). Seizing upon the inspired gimmick of using Barbie and Ken dolls to sympathetically recount the story of the pop star's death from anorexia, he spent months making miniature dishes, chairs, costumes, Kleenex and Ex-Lax boxes, and Carpenters' records to create the film's intricate, doll-size mise-en-scene. The result was both audacious and accomplished as the dolls seemingly ceased to be dolls leaving the audience weeping for the tragic singer. Unfortunately, Richard Carpenter's enmity for the film led to the serving of a "cease and desist" order in 1989, and despite the director's offer "to only show the film in clinics and schools, with all money going to the Karen Carpenter memorial fund for anorexia research," "Superstar" remains buried, one of the few films in modern America that cannot be seen by the general public.
