Dog and surfing lovers combined their passions to watch their dogs hang 20 while beachgoers cheered during the inaugural Surf City Surf Dog competition to raise money for animal welfare organizations at Huntington Beach. Dogs competed in either small, medium, or large dog surfing heats and were judged on a variety of skills, including; the length of their ride, the size of the wave and their confidence on the board. There was also a owner/celebrity costume and look-a-like fashion show. Patrick was run over by a car when he was a child, and suffered a spinal cord injury. He has used a wheelchair ever since. Ricochet is raising awareness & funds for Finnley who was born with brain damage, and not expected to live for more than 72 hours. She is a miracle, and is now 2 1/2 years old! Her brain damage left her with cerebral palsy, seizures, and vision impairment. She's not able to walk or not at this time, but loves classical music. She also adores being in the water. Swimming is very therapeutic for her, but they've been using a community pool, and now want to purchase their own pool so she can get 4-6 hours of therapy a day.
