Rare 1972 Swiss underground hard rock album, re-issued by Rockdrome featuring liner notes, photos and five bonus tracks. After Shave were a heavy trio formed in the late 60s and influenced by Cream, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and the usual suspects. They toured Europe in the early 70s and eventually recorded this debut album for the tiny Splendid label in 1972, which now commands big dollars on the rare record collector market. They have been featured in a few books, including The Hard Rock Anthology 1968-1980, Encylopedie du Hard Rock des Seventies and the Hans Pokora books. Breakthrough! Giant drill smashes open world's longest tunnel under Swiss Alps
Swiss engineers have smashed through the last stretch of rock to create the longest tunnel in the world. A gigantic drilling machine broke the remaining wall 8200 feet (2500 metres) below the imposing Piz Vatgira peak in the Gotthard massif. Miners, VIPs and journalists inside the tunnel cheered as Switzerland reclaimed the longest tunnel record from Japan's Seikan Tunnel. Some 2500 workers have spent nearly 20 years smashing through the rock beneath the Gotthard massif. When the tunnel opens in 2017, it will allow passenger and goods trains to pass underneath the Alps at speeds of up to 155 miles an hour (250 kilometres an hour) on their way from Germany to Italy.

The Grand Capucin is an extraordinary red granit tower in the Mont Blanc Group . It has an E face rising steeply out of the Géant Glacier. It is situated at the end of the east side of the Mont Blanc du Tacul . You can't miss it when you go from the Aiguille du Midi to the Rifugio Torino. It is a wonderful rock obelisk on the glacier du Géant. Particularly noticeable are the rows of overhangs which at one time suggested it was unclimbable, but Bonatti found a winding route which goes over some of the overhangs, but in general works its way up between the great roofs; the climbing is quite literally, geometrically vertical, something quite exceptional on granite. Although its faces are not higher than 490 m and although the mountain can be seen only from the summits around, it has been interesting for rock climbers since 40 years.
