It was also their first chart single in the UK, reaching #31. The lyrics tell a vague story about a man looking for a girl in a forest. He hears her calling for him, and as he chases her, he suddenly stops and realizes that he is lost and that the girl is not there. The song is fairly upbeat compared to the other material on the album, and Lol Tolhurst's machine-like steady beat together with Simon Gallup's minimalistic bassline gives this nervous chase more depth and keeps the song on the edge of a frantic groove until the end. Though not their biggest hit, it is regarded by many fans and critics as one of the best examples of The Cure's sound, particularly their use of chorusing effects. The song is also notable for securing the band its first slot on BBC's Top of the Pops. The track has been re-recorded a number of times by The Cure. In 1990 the track was re-recorded and remixed as the "Tree mix" on the band's "Mixed Up" album.

The members of The Cure first started releasing music in the late 1970s. Their first album, Three Imaginary Boys (1979), and early singles placed them as part of the post-punk and New Wave movements that had sprung up in the wake of the punk rock revolution in the United Kingdom. During the early 1980s the band's increasingly dark and tormented music helped form the gothic rock genre. After the release of 1982's Pornography, the band's future was uncertain and frontman Robert Smith was keen to move past the gloomy reputation his band had cultivated. With the 1982 single "Let's Go to Bed" Smith began to inject more of a pop sensibility into the band's music. The Cure's popularity increased as the decade wore on, especially in the United States, where the songs "Just Like Heaven", "Lovesong" and "Friday I'm in Love" entered the Billboard Top 40 charts. By the start of the 1990s, The Cure were one of the most popular alternative rock bands in the world and have sold an estimated 27 million albums as of 2004.As of 2007, The Cure have released twelve studio albums and over thirty singles, with a thirteenth album due in October 2008.

Album version, haven't seen it uploaded, so I thought I would. Lyrics: Oh I miss the kiss of treachery The shameless kiss of vanity The soft and the black and the velvety Up tight against the side of me And mouth and eyes and heart all bleed And run in thickening streams of greed As bit by bit it starts the need To just let go My party piece Oh I miss the kiss of treachery The aching kiss before I feed The stench of a love for a younger meat And the sound that it makes When it cuts in deep The holding up on bended knees The addiction of duplicities As bit by bit it starts the need To just let go My party piece But I never said I would stay to the end So I leave you with babies and hoping for frequency Screaming like this in the hope of the secrecy Screaming me over and over and over I leave you with photographs Pictures of trickery Stains on the carpet and Stains on the scenery Songs about happiness murmured in dreams When we both us knew How the ending would be... So it's all come back round to breaking apart again Breaking apart like I'm made up of glass again Making it up behind my back again Holding my breath for the fear of sleep again Holding it up behind my head again Cut in deep to the heart of the bone again Round and round and round And it's coming apart again Over and over and over Now that I know that I'm breaking to pieces I'll pull out my heart And I'll feed it to anyone Crying for sympathy Crocodiles cry for the love of the crowd And the three cheers from ...

A brooding beautiful song by The Cure, from their 1981 album "Faith" One of my favorite albums of all time! Lyrics: Catch me if I fall I'm losing hold I can't just carry on this way And every time I turn away Lose another blind game The idea of perfection holds me... Suddenly I see you change Everything at once The same But the mountain never moves... Rape me like a child Christened in blood Painted like an unknown saint There's nothing left but hope... Your voice is dead And old And always empty Trust in me through closing years Perfect moments wait... If only we could stay Please Say the right words Or cry like the stone white clown And stand Lost forever in a happy crowd... No one lifts their hands No one lifts their eyes Justified with empty words The party just gets better and better... I went away alone With nothing left But faith With nothing left But faith With nothing left But faith Follow me on Twitter: @RX_Queen23 *I OWN NOTHING!*

An incredible Cure's song "To Wish Impossible Things" with the pictures of nature, in the video I've created recently. The pictures I've found all over the Internet with no mention of their authors, but if you are one of them, please write me a message and I will publish your name here. ========= Lyrics "To Wish Impossible Things" (The Cure) remember how it used to be when the sun would fill the sky remember how we used to feel those days would never end those days would never end remember how it used to be when the stars would fill the sky remember how we used to dream those nights would never end those nights would never end it was the sweetness of your skin it was the hope of all we might have been that filled me with the hope to wish impossible things to wish impossible things but now the sun shines cold and all the sky is grey the stars are dimmed by clouds and tears and all i wish is gone away all i wish is gone away and all i wish is gone away all i wish is gone away all i wish is gone away all i wish is gone away... A tribute I wanted to make of my favorite band, The Cure. This song is just so amazing. I love the lyrics, Robert Smith is a genius. Lyrics: Give me your eyes That I might see... the blind man kissing my hands. The sun is humming My head turns to dust. as he plays on his knees As he plays on his knees And the sand And the sea grows I close my eyes Move slowly through drowning waves Going away on a strange day And I laugh as I drift in the wind Blind, Dancing on a beach of stone Cherish the faces as they wait for the end Sudden hush across the water And we're here again. And the sand And the sea grows I close my eyes Move slowly through drowning waves Going away On a strange day. My head falls back And the walls crash down And the sky, And the impossible Explode Held for one moment I remember a song. An impression of sound Then everything is gone Forever A Strange Day. I've been looking so long at these pictures of you That I almost believe that they're real I've been living so long with my pictures of you That I almost believe that the pictures are All I can feel Remembering You standing quiet in the rain As I ran to your heart to be near And we kissed as the sky fell in Holding you close How I always held close in your fear Remembering You running soft through the night You were bigger and brighter and wider than snow And screamed at the make-believe Screamed at the sky And you finally found all your courage To let it all go Remembering You fallen into my arms Crying for the death of your heart You were stone white So delicate Lost in the cold You were always so lost in the dark Remembering you How you used to be Slow drowned You were angels So much more than everything Hold for the last time then slip away quietly Open my eyes But I never see anything If only I'd thought of the right words I could have held on to your heart If only I'd thought of the right words I wouldn't be breaking apart All my pictures of you Looking so long at these pictures of you But I never hold on to your heart Looking so long for the words to be true But always just breaking apart My pictures of you There was nothing in the world That I ever wanted more Than to feel you deep in my heart There was nothing in the world That I ever wanted more Than to never feel the breaking apart All my pictures of you

Artist: Cure Album: Disintegration Title: The Same Deep Water As You Kiss me goodbye Pushing out before i sleep Can't you see i try Swimming the same deep water as you is hard "the shallow drowned lose less than we" You breathe the strangest twist upon your lips "and we shall be together..." "kiss me goodbye bow your head and join with me" And face pushed deep reflections meet The strangest twist upon your lips and dissapear The ripples clear and laughing break Against your feet and laughing break the mirror sweet "so we shall be together..." "kiss me goodbye" pushing out before i sleep It's lower now and slower now the strangest Twist upon your lips but i don't see and i dont Feel but tightly hold up silently my hands Before my fading eyes and in my eyes your Smile the very last thing before i go... I will kiss you i will kiss you i will kiss you Forever on nights like this i will kiss you i will Kiss you and we shall be together...

Three Imaginary Boys is English rock band The Cure's debut album, released in May 1979 by Fiction Records. It was later released in the United States, with a slightly different song line-up, as Boys Don't Cry. "Foxy Lady", a soundcheck with vocals sung by Michael Dempsey, was not supposed to be on the album and was removed for the American release. Smith has stated that "songs like 'Object' and 'World War' and our cover of 'Foxy Lady' were [Chris Parry's] choice, even though they were diabolical and I hated them" The record company decided which songs were put on the album, as well as the cover artwork, without Robert Smith's consent. For all Cure albums since, Smith has ensured he is given complete creative control over the final product before it goes on sale. The band has performed as an encore "Three Imaginary Boys", "Fire in Cairo", "Boys Don't Cry", "Jumping Someone Else's Train", "Grinding Halt", "10:15 Saturday Night" and "Killing an Arab" (sung as "Killing Another") on the 2007/2008 4Tour (the singles "Boys Don't Cry", "Jumping Someone Else's Train" and "Killing an Arab" were on the American release). In 2011 The Cure performed the album in its entirety at venues in Sydney, New York, and Los Angeles. These shows, billed as The Cure: 'Reflections', were recorded for potential DVD release. Disintegration is the eighth studio album by English alternative rock band The Cure, released on 1 May 1989 by Fiction Records. The record marks a return to the introspective and gloomy gothic rock style the band had established in the early 1980s. As he neared the age of thirty, vocalist and guitarist Robert Smith felt an increased pressure to follow up on the group's pop successes with a more enduring work. This, coupled with a distaste for the group's new-found popularity, caused Smith to lapse back into the use of hallucinogenic drugs, the effects of which had a strong influence on the production of the album. The Cure recorded Disintegration at Hook End Manor Studios in Reading, Berkshire, with co-producer David M. Allen in late 1988 through early 1989. During production, founding member Lol Tolhurst was fired from the band. All songs by Smith, Gallup, O'Donnell, Thompson, Tolhurst and Williams. "Plainsong" -- 5:12 (00:00) "Pictures of You" -- 7:24 (5:15) "Closedown" -- 4:16 (12:45) "Lovesong" -- 3:29 (17:06) "Last Dance" -- 4:42 (20:37) "Lullaby" -- 4:08 (25:23) "Fascination Street" -- 5:16 (29:37) "Prayers for Rain" -- 6:05 (34:53) "The Same Deep Water as You" -- 9:19 (41:00) "Disintegration" -- 8:18 (50:23) "Homesick" -- 7:06 (58:43) "Untitled" -- 6:30 (01:05:54) Robert Smith -- vocals, guitars, keyboards, 6-string bass, production, engineering Simon Gallup -- bass guitar, keyboards Porl Thompson -- guitars Boris Williams -- drums Roger O'Donnell -- keyboards Lol ...
