TPiR 9/28/11: 7500th Show: Triple Cars, Triple Cash, 1000s Showcases

The new staff trying out another little twist to a regular show and succeeding pretty well. Let's pretend Lucky 7 never happened today. :P The car games weren't too exciting overall, but here's two of the cashers, then a decent trip down memory lane. As far as I heard, this is the only time 3 cash games have shown up ever, but I bet someone will find otherwise. And look - WBZ isn't cutting in post-reveal as often anymore! Yes! Lineup: Lucky Seven L, Half Off W, Money Game L, Grand Game W, Pushover (car) W, Plinko W. Alternating car-cash, 4/6.

TPiR 9/19/11: The Beginning Boom: Sharon's Historic Race Game

...Boom. Mike actually setup a show worthy of a premiere - this wasn't even that hard (the Jeep was a gimme in particular). And then Sharon and her group REALLY knew what they were doing. Included at the end is an easy Double Prices setup (put in Contestant's Row position as the entire stage otherwise was still covered) and then one of 10 classic clips coming up this week (I'm assuming 2 a day like today). Check priceisright.com daily this week to see them all. 3X was a welcome surprise 6th, the first Big 3 to move out of 1st in a very long time, but as it was well overdue for a loss, the Porsche Boxster ($53416) got as far as 53xxx. The player killed himself trying everything but the 1 in the 1st slot... I understand exhausting possibilities, but try pricing the car too, especially with these harder rules. Oh well, it was due as I said and the sting is virtually lost when you see this. History I can come up with on the spot: -$78519 in a pricing game is clearly the most won by any non-Golden Road game (and maybe in the future if we're super lucky, Pay the Rent). Triple Play had a low 70s win once on the S30 Las Vegas show if I recall my Youtube adventures right, but definitely not close to 80. 3 Strikes caps out in the 50s even on primetime. -First time 4 cars has ever been offered at once, anywhere. -Racey gets justification to get played 1st for the first time ever. The lineups have been very weird lately (a lot of games that usually show up once every 3-4 weeks getting played in two consecutive weeks), but it's been working out OK. This was particularly *easy*, which with Liquid Plum-R I'm not sure Mike wanted... Appending two raw parts occurred at 3:58, thus the usual video/audio blip.

TPiR 1/2/12: Snoop Dogg "Knows" His Grocery Products

CBS press release: "It was a lot of fun to watch these celebs play our iconic games," said Mike Richards, Executive Producer. "Each one had their own unique strategy to win. Let's just say Snoop knows more about the price of grocery items than you might think!" ^You mad still this was won, Mike Richards? Considering the nasty high setups we usually see for a car, I really wouldn't be surprised (today wasn't easy, but he definitely made it winnable, which was thankful after a usual nasty L7). Just looking at the gameplay... yeah, let's chalk this up a *smidge* bit of luck :). Notice on the pizza crust how it was pretty hard to cooperate with the celeb, but the pizza crust blurt-out really made the win. This is the first clip from my new DVD recorder (old one died, lived for 3.5 years)... it's the same company, newer model, looks exactly the same, so thankfully no bumps in the road...

The Price is Right - Bob Barker's biggest winner ever

Credit goes to thewhammy83, who uploaded the three parts to the episode this video is based off of. This video merges together the area that focuses on the contestant described here. She may be short in stature, but on the April 16, 2005, episode of The Price is Right $1000000 Spectacular primetime special (during Season 33 of The Price is Right), Sheena Lindholm became the show's biggest winner ever, daytime or primetime, in the history of the show up to that point by winning a combined total of $183688 in cash and prizes. And while a contestant named Vickyann became the show's biggest daytime winner by winning $147517 one and a half seasons later, Sheena's winning total in the end turned out to be the biggest amount any daytime or primetime Price is Right contestant ever won during Bob Barker's tenure as the show's host, since there were no millionaires on the $1000000 Spectaculars that Barker hosted. After Drew Carey became host, Adam Rose became the first millionaire on the $1000000 Spectacular early in 2008 (Michael Haynes and Cynthia Azevedo also did likewise later that year), becoming the first contestant to surpass Lindholm's primetime and overall record, and is still the show's primetime and overall record holder. But for Sheena, then a freshman softball player at Eastern Oregon, her record, set at that time and stood until Adam broke it, consisted of winning a $4590 sailboat that was an item up for bid (Sheena bid $3200, Amy bid $5000, Philip bid $1400, and ...

TPiR 3/14/12: Step Up

Audio blip should occur at 2:31. For Price nerds (hint: me :P), this was the highlight of a fairly great 5/6er. That "which 9" in OA is going to haunt me for a bit, though. Yes, $19957 was terribly ugly, but ever since Mike has started making OA a 2 week game and using last digit 8, always actually 7, I don't think a single one has ever had it at 7 even after changes, so expect Mike to continue using it until it's beaten (Roo hasn't shown up since its win - Mike seems to overreact to wins on his hard setups).

TPiR 11/3/08: Taylor's Big Day

On Monday September 8th, one contestant entered with a lot of luck... :D I apologize for the ending - WBZ in Boston, earlier this year, started previewing the noon news and shrinking the credits into the tiniest box w/o sound. Today, due to the election, it went straight to commercial. This episode was originally scheduled to air tomorrow (#4502K), but was switched to start off the week with a bang. Another big notable: Dorothy from the 2nd show EVER on TPiR (1972) was called down for the 4th OB, won in the 6th OB, and lost Coming or Going on a Catalina Yacht sailboat ("Going" - $7269 - it was $9627). She then went OVER on the wheel.

It looks pretty beautiful, doesn't it? (PG #2 on the day) Probably the best part about this segment is its length - the showcases ended up being rushed, but we took our time very nicely here, which continually becomes rarer and rarer. As far as I know and heard, $34990 is the highest daytime offering in this game, ever. Holey's definitely been played in primetime, so something else may have beat it out then...but it probably wasn't as cool as this! ;) EDIT: I'm sorry the caption spoils the result, but I want the Bentley as the caption.
