Hartvoorautos.nl visited the Modena Trackdays at the GP Strecke at the Nurburgring in Germany. Like expected there were many Ferraris, also two FXX, 599xx, Challenge cars and even Formula 1! Also two Maserati MC12s, Porsche 996 GT1 and the legendary Mclaren F1 were present! Put 2 track days on the Dunlop Q2's. Just talking about them and how they performed at the track. Managed to do at least 2 laps on VIR North Course in the 1:45's so that was nice. Edit-I have since learned from some buddies on my FZ forum that have ran these tires that they have agreed that the best hot pressure for these are 33 PSI front and rear gave them best performance.

Doing a review after my Road Atlanta track day of my tires. I run Bridgestone BT-016's 120/70 front and 190/55 rear. I found that for a street tire they did very very well at the track. These tires have 2 track days and around 16-1700 street miles.

7-25-11 - Tony's Track Days Intermediate Yellow Group This was our first heat at our first ever track day at Loudon, New Hampshire. Video starts out with me on the GSXR1000 following my dad on his Ducati 1198 then switches to my friend on his GSXR750. I don't need any comments about how bad my form was. I corrected it later in the day by getting on my toes, but we were split up so there's no footage of it. It's difficult to change styles back and forth from motocross to streetbikes. We only got 2 heats in before the day was canceled by rain. Can't wait til the next one! *If anybody knows who was on the last bike passed, let me know cuz I'd like to get his footage to add to the video.

Engine is completely standard but it has different shocks, geo setup, tyres, TR Lane half cage and buckets/harnesses. Great day out as always - special thanks to the chap who broke our steering lock at the start of the day. Nope, not joking, I left the keys 120 miles away so we had to effectively hotwire the car to get it started!

2008 NESBA Track Days weekend. Two days aboard a 2005 Yamaha YZF R1 on Miller Motorsports Park full course. 24 corners, 28 apexes around a 4 1/2 mile circuit. Top speed aboard R1 around 168 mph indicated, not factoring speedo error. Amateurs like me take corner 1, aka Sunset Bend, around 100 mph dragging a knee. Go to a track. You don't know what you're missing!

It's covered in every track day briefing: if a car has appeared in your mirrors it's because it's faster than you, so please ease off and let them by. Simple. Except when you have selfish people like we see here in the big shiny expensive AMG Mercedes, which no doubt cost a lot of money and clearly has lots of horsepowers. The blue G40 that I've caught is patiently waiting to get past him but gets denied on the start/finish straight. When the opportunity comes up through The Loop the G40 makes good use of it and I try and follow him through, but am wary of what Mr Mercedes might do. As he decides to re-pass me on the straight towards Brooklands I decide I don't fancy having a collision with him so I let the black G40 past which has caught us up. Once again he's denied the pass along the old start/finish straight, and again on the run down from Copse which nearly ends in a collision - you can just about hear me shouting in disbelief.
