I decided to go back out to the World Trade Center site one evening to see what progress has been made. As I said in my previous video I am glad to see that progress is moving forward at a fast rate now at about 1 or 2 floors per week but I am very sad about those lost on 9/11 and my heart goes out to those people who where lost on that horrible day. After getting off the PATH train I decide to walk around the entire site to get the progress from every angle possible. I also decided to ask a worker what the status was on One World Trade Center. He told me that they are up to the 56th floor and the steel is starting on the 58th floor. He also told me about the glass that starts on the 20th floor and said to count the panels which I counted up to 27 so the glass is up to the 27th floor but on the south face glass is going up on the 28th floor. So as I walk around I caught a few cranes moving things around the complex for the workers. I was also able to see through a small hole in the fence of tower 2's basement. As I continue to walk around I eventually end up at the Hudson River where we see a beautiful sunset shot of The Statue Of Liberty, Jersey City, Hoboken and back to One World Trade Center. The original World Trade Center was a complex of seven buildings in Lower Manhattan in New York City that was destroyed in the attacks that took place on September 11 2001. The site is currently being rebuilt with six new skyscrapers and a memorial to the casualties of the attacks. At the time of their completion, the first 1 World Trade Center and 2 World Trade Center were the tallest buildings in the world, surpassing the Empire State Building, which is also in Manhattan. The cost for the construction was $400 million ($2169167354 as of 2011). The original World Trade Center was designed by Minoru Yamasaki in the early 1960s using a tube-frame structural design for the twin 110-story towers. In gaining approval for the project, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey agreed to take over the Hudson & Manhattan Railroad, which became the Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH). Groundbreaking for the World Trade Center took place on August 5, 1966. The North Tower was completed in December 1972 and the South Tower was finished in July 1973; the two were collectively known as the Twin Towers, the two tallest buildings in the world at that time. Where is the missing 1200 feet of heavy building materials? It was vaporized according to the engineering firm that built the buildings (and helped engineer the demolition of them). Controlled demolition turns buildings into dust at near freefall speed, not 'collapses'. Steel dust? In 1986 I was going to the roof of the WTC and filmed with my ARRIflex ST 16mm camera two 30m rolls of Kodak reversal film, thats about 5 Minutes. I used a Angenieux 12 - 120mm lens. The sound is recorded not on the WTC, its recorded out of the window of my hotel in the 16th floor, I´m sorry about this. It's been 9 years since the terrorist attacks of 9/11, I wanted to make a tribute video. What I did was select footage of the Towers from films to make a compilation. Thought y'all would like to see a video of them where they're not in flames for a change... My inspiration came from the thought that I have never gotten to see these wonderful buildings in my life, except on film. I felt an emptiness and sadness when I visited New York in 2003 and looked up at the skyline and noticed something (and I really mean two things) missing. Films used were "Gangs of New York", "Trading Places", "King Kong", "Spiderman", "Coming To America", "Guns N' Roses - Paradise City", "King Kong", "We're Back", "Man On Wire", "Limp Bizkit - Rollin", "City of New York Vs. Homer Simpson", "Depeche Mode - Enjoy The Silence", and "Home Alone 2". The music used is a mash-up of "Allison At The Stoplight" and "John Rescued / Resolution".
