THE TORNADO WAS RATED EF3 ON THE ENHANCED FUJITA SCALE WITH MAXIMUM WINDS OF 136 TO 165 MPH. THE TORNADO HAD A PATH LENGTH OF 13.2 MILES AND A MAXIMUM WIDTH OF AROUND 100 YARDS. THE TORNADO STARTED AT 330 PM ABOUT 1.2 MILES NORTH OF POPLAR GROVE IN BOONE COUNTY AND ENDED AT 348 PM ABOUT 3.2 MILES NORTH NORTHEAST OF HARVARD IN MCHENRY COUNTY. THERE WERE FOUR INJURIES IN BOONE COUNTY AND ONE IN MCHENRY COUNTY. THE FIRST SIGNS OF DAMAGE WERE AT QUAIL TRAP ROAD JUST EAST OF POPLAR GROVE ROAD WHERE TREES WERE DAMAGED AND SECTIONS OF ROOFING WERE REMOVED FROM A SHED. This is a brief movie about the tragic train crash that killed members of a family in Hammond, Indiana. I originally shot this footage to show my sons (and wife) how dangerous it is to race these trains two blocks from my home. I hope that they will put gates at these railroad crossings soon. Less then a month after this crash took place another man was killed by a train one block away at another crossing not gated.

Cameras on the train platform in Buenos Aires where the accident happened captured the moment when the first train plunged into a bus then flew across the tracks into a second train. Hordes of people are then seen, in shock, pouring out of the second train's doors and windows. From the next platform a different camera captured the impact from a new angle and showed a person jumping out of the second train and running across the tracks to the platform just before a large electric explosion fires on the damaged track line. In the two final videos you can see clearly how the second train jolted from the impact, some of its metal carriages crumple and windows smashing under the force. Local media said on Wednesday the number of dead had risen to 11. Most of those injured and killed, were aboard the bus, including the bus driver. Some 200 people were also injured.
