Firstly, DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME! (unless you know what you're letting yourself in for).... So, how hot was the Trinidad Scorpion Chili Pepper? So insane that describing it in words would never express the real pain that one has to endure with this one.... Numbs the mouth within 30 seconds, so I thought, OK.... It's not too bad... Oh was I wrong, as soon as I swallowed the lot, that's when it set in! The burn on the back of the roof of my mouth and the back/whole of my throat felt like they were on fire... Actual pain (or so the neuro-toxins made me believe lol) this lasted for 10 mins for me, then I threw up, Lok lasted longer and was ok, just one thing, NEVER EAT ANYTHING LIKE THIS ON AN EMPTY STOMACH!! I should have known better lol.... So how did it taste? Fantastic flavour, a strong but suttle Naga taste, a little sweet and has an almost fruity taste too... (then the mad heat kicks in and taste is irrelevant by this stage) =) but for a couple of hours after the taste lingered.... Today I try a homegrown Trinidad Scorpion Morouga Red Chilli. This was insane, one of the hottest pods I've ever eaten. The second I swallowed it - bang came the heat building on the tongue then moving into the back of the throat. My tongue was on fire and I thought it was going to melt! Tastewise was a tiny bit fruity and florally, but it quickly disappeared once the heat kicked in. It's now the day after and I still can't taste anything! Overall an awesome pod to grow, plants don't produce that many pods but they are big and look fantastic. Taste 8/10 Heat 12/10

I feel like I just climbed to the summit of K2. Thanks Judy! I am so thankful to have had 30 or so different chiles (About 28 of which were due to the kindness of the many amazing members here on THP) before I tried this one. Between this and the Douglah last week, working my way up the heat ladder has been an amazing journey for me. I think if I had tried this as my first pepper I might have just quietly deleted my user name here on THP and keep target shooting as my only hobby. OK, so on to the review. The Trinidad Scorpion Butch T is a small little pepper. Very deceiving except for its wicked looking tail. The pepper was a nice deep red with a light bumpy but smooth skin. It looked very juicy and felt like it had a thicker skin like a Congo Trinidad. Holding it in your hand it had a nice give to it, not a plastic feel like some of the 7's. Cutting it open there was no whoosh of aroma. Smelling up close was actually pretty pleasant. A mild fruity scent with a strong capsicum aura that was actually hot smelling but not evil in any way. I was joking about it in my Douglah review, but this one really did kind of said "Hey, I not that bad. Just pop me in your mouth and see" Seed count was low to med-low. Maybe 8-10 seeds. Seed placenta was small, but the interior of the pepper had the thickest layer of placenta covering it that I can remember. Douglah was thick.... maybe equal, but the brown color made it harder to discern its thickness. The Douglah did have more visible <b>...</b>

Today I try the Butch T Trinidad Scorpion, Measuring in at 1463700 SHU! The taste is florally and very slightly fruity, but then turns into a bit of a chemical taste due to the large amounts of capsaicin present. Heatwise hit mainly in the mouth and tongue, built a little in the back of the throat too. I thought I would suffer more with this one, but as I explain in the video I have been doing some 'tolerance training' for a pod eating competition at the weekend and I think it must be working! I may well test another in a few weeks time to see if this was the case, and to check I didn't have a 'dud' pod. I'm pretty sure that this was not the case though! The Hastings Prolific corn is getting too tall. It's touching the plastic already, with no tassles yet. Gonna let it go and see what happens. My rail system for the hydroponic lettuce is doing pretty good. I've moved the 3 Big Beef tomatoes into a larger dutch bucket setup and they look great. Just for fun, I put a Trinidad Scorpion pepper in a dutch bucket and it is doing very well. All in all, I'm extremely satisfied with how the hydroponic setups are doing.

For the last 30 years I had been happy just eating my Hatch XXX green chiles every year. Then a few years ago, living so close to Las Cruces and the Chile Pepper Institute, the name Bhut Jolokia was in the local paper all the time. Sill I never was that interested in it. Then, this spring, I was trying to find a scorpion bolla for my son. (Those necklaces that have a real scorpion encased in plastic). I Googled scorpion and as I was going through results I noticed one that said Trinidad Scorpion chile. I clicked on it and read in amazement about it. That led me to a link to THSC where Neil was eating all these incredible peppers I had never heard of. I remember I stayed up till like 4 AM that night watching in exhausted amazement. (I had to go to work the next day) I really though the only hot varieties out there were the ones on the Great Chile Poster + the Bhut Jolokia. I was officially hooked. This time I try the awesome Trinidad Scorpion, from one of my plants grown in sunny Cornwall. Was a bit nervous about doing this one, knowing it's reputation..... How was it? HOT! Fantastic fruity taste at the start, before the heat takes hold and builds to an unbearable level...... I have lost my sense of taste now a few hours later. Certainly the hottest pod I've eaten so far, and still with a good taste underneath the heat. *DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!* Firstly thanks to Paul for sending me these... Ok, so I know we didn't react so badly... Well we prepared well, and maybe overly so... But this one still hurt.... So how hot was it? well the first review we had to discard, but then it was hotter than this time, I give the ButchT a 11/10.... Searing throat burning and lip tingling... So what about the taste? Fruity, quite sweet with a very recognizable all round chilli flavour, I give the Butch T a healthy 8/10 for that.

Why not start off at the top instead of working your way up slowly? Either way it's going to hurt like hell! I have been debating whether or not to eat one of my butch t scorpions on video and today was the day. Sorry I didn't give much of a review of the pepper. It was everything I could do to just get through that one!

This is the 4th in the range from Chillipepperpete - and yes, the heat is rising! I decided after the incredibly painful test of the naga paste to downsize the spoon for this one..... The paste looks and smells awesome, really rich deep red colour and smells just like fresh scorpions - a touch fruity. The heat hits instantly when you put it in your mouth, it quickly spread from the lips through the mouth and into the back of the throat, building to a good level. Definitely the hottest of the range so far, I'm glad I didn't eat so much of this one!! The taste was very good, strong scorpion flavour, a touch sweeter than the other pastes, with a hint of a metallic taste in the background due to the high capsaicin content. You get a similar taste when you bite into a fresh scorpion, so all good! I would recommend this one highly, more so than the others in the range so far. Will the morouga paste be hotter though?! Heat 11/10 Taste 8/10 Hope you enjoyed and look out for the final morouga paste soon :)

Heartbreaking Dawn's 1498 Trinidad Scorpion Pepper Sauce

Today I try 1498 Trinidad Scorpion Sauce from Heartbreaking Dawns. I have already tried the Ghost Pepper sauce which was awesome and only lasted a few days in the fridge! This is a very runny consistency sauce, with quite a few chunks of various ingredients floating around. Taste is quite sweet with a fairly instant burn from the scorpion, unfortunately the camera cut out just after having the first spoonful - so I had to have a second when I put another memory stick in it!! The first spoonful actually hit a little harder than the second. Altogether a great tasting sauce, however it is just a little too runny for my liking as it is difficult to use as a table sauce. Works well as a sauce to mix in with food though. I will try to get hold of the rest of the range from Heartbreaking Dawns as they are certainly very tasty! The ButchT Strain. The heat was immediate and did not subside the entire video. My endorphins did not help and there was really no noticeable peak to this pepper. I got a hint of a fruity flavor at the beginning prior to the heat really starting to set in and again at the end however for the most part the only thing my brain could comprehend was the way the capsaicin lit up my entire mouth, throat and stomach. The pain in my stomach was shooting in all directions. It was similar to the stomach pain of the 7 pod jonah strain. At the end of the video prior to taking a sip of milk the thought crossed my mind that I might throw up. This took place about 5-10 minutes after filming than again about 20 minutes later when I came back to edit the video. Not sure if seeing the hick ups on film is what caused it but it sure did give me a flash back haha. Even after all that my stomach was still hurting however is feeling much better. So to answer some inquiries in advance, the hottest pepper I have had is still the Douglah. Looking back almost all of the peppers I have eaten have been extremely hot. I started to compare it to specific peppers however when look at the list for super hots I was going to compare it to the list is just too long. The effects on my body seem to suggest this was the hottest however I have eaten more peppers than I ever have in such a short period of time this weekend. I do not regret it at all and look forward to eating my next pepper but am going to give <b>...</b>
