It sounded like a car crash that went on for 2 minutes! The black truss is the touring rig and the aluminum truss hanging vertical is the house grid.(it's supposed to be level). the touring rig hangs from it. in the pictures you can see how they tried to renforce the tour rig with 12" truss to support the center. without any rigging points there the center of the grid just smiled and fell. (THE TOURING RIG DIDN'T FAIL THE HOUSE GRID DID..) three people were hurt and about a million bucks in dammage. Could you imagine if Aguilera was on stage when this happend she wouldn't have written (candyman) whew!

This video was created to help show firefighters the dangers of wood truss roof assemblies when they are exposed to fire. The video contains excerpts of tests burns that were conducted on a wood truss assembly and also a wood "stick built" roof assembly. The test burns were not scientific and are not intended to discredit trusses; they were conducted simply to help educate the fire service of the dangers that trusses pose if they are exposed to fire. Trusses have many good features. The issue the fire service needs to be keenly aware of is that they fail quickly when exposed to a fire. Granted most building codes provide a good degree of protection for trusses. But the problem arises when the fire either originates in the truss space or, somehow, extends into it, thus exposing the truss to fire. And then, as Francis Brannigan so accurately stated, "Gravity Always Wins"

This video presents a robot capable of autonomously traversing and manipulating a 3D truss structure. The robot is able to approach and traverse multiple structural joints using a combination of translational and rotational motions. A key factor in allowing reliable motion and engagements is the use of specially designed structural building blocks comprised of bidirectional geared rods. A set of traversal plans, each comprised of basic motion primitives, were analyzed for speed, robustness, and repeatability. Paths covering eight joints are demonstrated, as well as automatic element assembly and disassembly. We suggest that the robot architecture and truss module design, such as the one presented here, could open the door to robotically assembled, maintained, and reconfigured structures that would ordinarily be difficult, risky, or time consuming for humans to construct.

PRG BAT Truss Animation
The PRG BAT Truss is a "low pro" truss. It is 15" tall, has an open bottom, and comes in two widths, 24-inch and 30-inch. It is available in black or natural and it is available in multiple lengths, such as 8-ft and 10-ft. BAT Truss is extremely versatile. It can be used as pre-rigged truss for automated lights. It can accommodate small automated fixtures such as the VL5® and utilizing its innovative truss cart and adjustable hang pipes, it can also handle larger fixtures like PRG's Bad Boy®. The height of the truss cart is variable and it has been designed to fold flat, so the carts can stack. This reduces the amount of space required to store the carts when not in use. The carts are available with custom shock protection to mitigate the vibration commonly experienced during transport. Like the carts, the hang pipes are also highly flexible. The structural cross members of the truss contain a Unistrut track. This allows users to position multiple pipes, in any position, within the truss. BAT Truss also uses rotating spigot connections. The spigot connectors give the truss a high load rating and allow users to create unique configurations without requiring corner blocks or hinges. Broken Jack Rafter Truss Roof Framing
hometips.gregvan.com There's a good chance that the framing carpenter who installed this jack rafter didn't understand how important it was to at least put two nails in the jack rafter. As the home construction process speeds up and the prices paid to construction workers, who are building the roofs get lower and lower, you're going to run into more problems like these. If you weaken one or two jack rafters that are 24 inches on center, you now have a 6 foot roof problem that could lead to even a bigger problem in the future. If you didn't understand the last sentence, let me try to explain it a little bit better. If you had a good roof rafter that's 24 inches away from your first broken roof rafter, that's 24 inches away run the next roof rafter and then 24 inches away from the next good roof rafter, you have a 6 foot long roofing problem. I hope that explanation is enough, but if it isn't, broken roof rafters should be fixed, replaced or repaired as soon as possible, to prevent any more damage to the roof framing or roofing materials.

Guitar - Fixing Fret Buzz - Truss Rod Nut Adjustment
How to do-it-yourself instructional on making a truss-rod nut adjustment on a one year old Gibson Songwriter acoustic guitar (similar to a Gibson J-50) to eliminate fret-buzz. [Guitar buzzes] Now that's what's known as fret buzz. If your guitar sounds like that -- don't worry, it's not time to get a new guitar. It's just time to do a simple adjustment. [Music] [No dialogue] OK so you've got this lock-nut on this truss rod underneath the cover there and we're just going to fit it with this five sixteenths deep socket and we're going to just give it a little bit of a turn. So it's a new guitar and so I assume that the wood is swelling and it's become too tense against the truss rod so I back off the tension. The standard change of tension is a quarter turn at a time, meaning ninety degrees at a time. OK we're just going to slip on the deep five sixteenths socket, just like that you see. We're going to back the truss rod nut off, just a quarter turn to begin with, of course, that's what everybody does. OK so I like to slack it off a hundred and twenty degrees and then turn it up another thirty degrees to make it a ninety degree turn in total. Now having just done that adjustment, I'm just going to set it down and let the wood "take" and reshape a little bit before I go restringing it. You can see for yourself what the fretboard looks like after the adjustment. [No dialogue] For a ninety degree total reduction in tension but as with tuning a guitar string you like to come up <b>...</b>
