CCTV footage has been revealed of a dramatic crash landing of a passenger plane in Moscow. Investigators are examining the images for clues on the reasons behind Saturday's accident. The Dagestan Airlines plane suffered engine failure shortly after taking off from the Russian capital. Two died and more than 80 were injured when the Tupolev-154 crash landed, skidded off the runway and broke apart. Reports say passengers jumped from the wreckage, fearing the plane could explode. Investigators are looking at causes ranging from human error to frozen fuel and bad weather.

Deadly Landing: Pilot error, triple engine failure seen behind Tupolev 154 crash
Investigators say pilot error could well be behind the crash landing of a Russian passenger jet in Moscow, which killed 2 people and injured more than 80. This is my adventure on board of scary Uzbekistan Airways 30 years old Tupolev 154 fly from Thashkent to Nukus via Urgench.....in the cabin the air smell of disel oil, the propellants have a terrible noyse; i don't know whay; but on this aircarft there aren't the oxygene masks and the sit space was perfect for a man tall not over 150cm....i'm 188 cm tall......BUT!the fly was perfect no one turbulence or jouncing during the take off, fly or landing:)

Not too many years ago the TU-154 was a daily visitor in Düsseldorf. I remember the times when we had the apron filled with 5 or more TU5 in the early mornings of summer-most of them were owned by Air Via Bulgarian Airlines (they now operate an A320 fleet), Bulgarian Air Charter (BUC) (they now operate MD80's), and Aeroflot (they are currently phasing out their last Tu5's I believe). Throughout the day the Air Via TU5's would return to do another run to Bulgaria (Varna, Bourgas and Sofia if I remember right), Aeroflot would send at least one more TU5 on one of their three daily flights from Düsseldorf to Moscow Sheremetyevo, Sibir Airlines had a daily afternoon service from Düsseldorf to Moscow-Domodedovo and Pulkovo/Rossiya had two daily flights to St Petersburg and one to Moscow-Vnukovo-all of them were operated by TU-154! In addition to that Aeroflot-Don and Ural Airlines had a weekly flight on Sundays during the Summer to Rostov and Jekaterinburg using the Tu-154. a Pulkovo TU 154M is taking off to St Petersburg. Nowadays there is not a single scheduled Tu5 service left in Düsseldorf, all the mentioned airlines replaced their TU5 services with B737 and Airbus A32X. Ural Airlines and Donavia discontinued their weekly flights into Düsseldorf in the summer of 2008 I really hope to see them again someday. I really miss the TU5's with their unique wing and tail shapes. The sound was unmistakable and loud. The last TU5 flight in Düsseldorf was a Rossiya Flight to St <b>...</b>

Tupolev Tu-154 flight on Vatsim (LOWI-EPWA)
If you would like some music in the background try the video reply. This is a freeware aircraft from Project Tupolev. The flight was made on Vatsim network. During the approach my hydraulic system failed. I had to start auxillary pumps to get at least nose wheel steering. Unfortunately I had almost no braking action at all and hardly managed to stop before end of the runway.
