Twister
Bill Paxton, Helen Hunt and Carey Elwes may be billed as the stars of Twister, but the film's real attractions are the cyclones themselves. Best experienced in a theater, the nail-biting, blow-the-audience-out-of-their-seats computer generated graphics, cutting edge sound and other special effects are designed to take viewers straight into the roaring funnel of a gigantic tornado. In order to focus on special effects and action, the story is simple and the characters are drawn in broad strokes with little depth. Jo Harding (Hunt) became a storm chaser (a meteorologist who photographs and scientifically studies tornadoes in the field) after a large twister sucked her hapless daddy into oblivion when she was a girl. Bill (Paxton) was a storm chaser too, but left to become a successful weatherman. His change of profession ruined his marriage to Jo. Before separating, the Hardings invented DOROTHY, a gizmo designed to release thousands of tiny sensors when a tornado passes over it. The Hardings hope the information transmitted by the sensors will provide insight into the nature of the whirling windstorms. Backed by a large corporation, the villainous Dr. Jonas Miller (Elwes) has created a similar machine. Neither gadget has been field tested and both groups of storm chasers are anxious to find tornadoes. At the peak of the worst twister season in decades, Bill shows up at Jo's truck with his prissy fiancee Melissa (Jami Gertz) so Jo can sign divorce papers. Suddenly a twister <b>...</b>

Psycho-linguists (yes, that's a thing) still don't know exactly why tongue twisters trip people up, but they do know that it has more to do with the mind than the tongue. But the point is that speech is far more complicated and wonderful than we generally give it credit for, and tongue twisters are one of the few opportunities we really get to enjoy how amazing it really is. Tornado/Twister Leigh Lancashire 8th July 2011
Hi my name is Lee and this is the first video i've ever up loaded on youtube(had nothing worth putting up before) and it was filmed on 8th July 2011 at 3.15pm. I was just looking out the window minutes before this happened and having seen so many other videos of tornadoes/twisters on youtube i recognize the cloud movement as what could be the start of a tornado. That's when i grab my camera and started filming luckily just seconds before the twister started to form. This film footage was featured on BBC Northwest Tonight and was describe as a funnel cloud not a twister as it didn't touch down.But conflicting reports(Bolton news website) suggest it did touch down in Westhoughton which is about 3-4 miles away from were this was filmed and cause a little damage to some roof tops and toss some garden furniture around. I would like to apologize for the sound track it is pretty bad as the original audio was just me saying "bloody hell a tornado" lol and there is no wind or thunder sounds too so i just used youtubes free audio changer. Please feel free to use clips and still pictures on other websites. I know this isn't as good as some of the other videos particularly the ones you see in USA but for England this is pretty cool stuff and i hope you enjoy it.
