Online, a rich and artistic typographical culture exists, where typefaces are created and graphic design seeps in to every image. Follow me at @RogersCreations on twitter Using the wonderful words of acclaimed writer, actor and allround know it all (I mean that in the best of ways) Stephen Fry I have created this kinetic typography animation. If you like what you hear you can download the rest of the audio file from Mr. Fry's website. stephenfry.com and then go to the audio and video section at the top of the page and look for the file entitled language. You can also find the file on iTunes by searching the name 'Stephen Fry's Podgrams'. I loved this particular essay on language and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to make my first kinetic typography video. I hope you like it and even if you dont I would like to heard what you think in the comments section. Also I know that at points the audio does not match the text so you do not have to write that. It is because I copied the transcript off of Stephen's website and it was not 100% exactly what he said and i did not notice until I was well underway. However these cases are few and far between. Just incase you were wondering the programs I used to make this were all by Adobe. Mostly After Effects but also Flash and Illustrator. Flash for the changing background colour transitions and illustrator for putting the words in to the shape of 'language' before loading it <b>...</b>

Shop Vac (kinetic typography animation)
A kinetic typography music video for Jonathan Coulton's Shop Vac. This was created using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere and Toon Boom Animate. I worked on this sporadically, so it's difficult to estimate how much time went into it. Somewhere between 500-1000 hours, but it was a labor of love. Hey, I've come to realize, that no matter how you put it, I'm not really entitled to offer this for download at all. I've removed the download link. For all you blink fans, here's something to spark your nostalgia. It's my first take on a typography project and I had to learn how to use After Effects from scratch to do it. You can really appreciate how the video gets better and more complicated towards the end as I got more confident and proficient at using the software. PLEASE watch it till the end and in HIGH QUALITY, or else you might miss the best parts. It took me quite a while to finish and I continued working on it through exams at uni and other school work. Fortunately I passed all my courses with good grades (I'm studying photovoltaic engineering at UNSW, in case anyone's wondering). Enjoy!

Firefly Kinetic Typography
This is my third experiment with Kinetic Typography. This one is by far the best. I'm in love with the background I made. Also, bear in mind that I don't have After Effects, so I had to do this all by hand, frame by frame. My first two took me roughly 12 hours, but this one took me 5 days. It was sooo worth it. The last few seconds are the best part. Dialogue is from the Firefly episode "Out of Gas", my favorite.
