A free documentary (short film) on schizophrenia. See Josh www.choicesinrecovery.com in a free documentary. It's called "Living With Schizophrenia" and by Janssen, my employer. It shows people living with schizophrenia and physicians and clinicians who believe in the "recovery movement" (there's hope)... Schizophrenia is not multiple personality disorder and is not anyone's fault! It's defined as "a mental disorder that makes it difficult to tell the difference between real and unreal experiences, to think logically, to have normal emotional responses, and to behave normally in social situations." www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov I am not crazy about the language "It's difficult... to have normal" emotional responses. There are lots of myths about "schizophrenics," and I returned to the pharmaceutical industry this summer to help people living with mental illnesses. Can people who have schizophrenia (and aren't treated) be dangerous? Absolutely. But it's time to move past stigmas and toward social integration of people living with schizophrenia. It's an illness like cancer or AIDs, and not a choice. Is medication perfect and the only option? Nope! Do these people deserve care, sensitivity, and help to achieve their goals? Yep! So please be sensitive to that. Whether someone has cancer or depression or bi-polar or schizophrenia, they didn't ask for their disease and are people first! :) We've come a long way since we used to treat people with mental health like they were possessed by <b>...</b>
