The league consists of universities of Waseda, Keio, Hosei, Meiji, Rikkyo and Tokyo. Tokyo University is the only public school in the league. Before the inception of the professional baseball league, the Tokyo Big6 League was widely considered the highest level of baseball in Japan and the most popular sports in early 1900s. The college baseball league was officially established in 1925 while Japans professional baseball league started in 1936. All the leagues games are played at Meiji Jingu Stadium, Tokyo. Games are known to be rowdy and celebratory with male and female cheerleaders and noisy bands working together. There are two tournaments a year in the spring and autumn. The series between Waseda and Keio known as Sokei-sen (早慶戦 = Waseda-Keio Battle) attract the most attention. The Waseda-Keio rivalry beginning in 1903 actually predates the establishment of the college baseball league. The series are always played in the last week of the season in memory of this.

Meta Cookie

"Meta Cookie" is the world's first pseudo-gustation system which induces cross-modal effect to let humans perceive various tastes without changing chemical substances by changing only visual and olfactory information. Our system evokes cross-modal effect among vision, olfaction and gustation and let users feel that they are eating a flavored cookie although they are just eating a plain cookie with an AR marker. Gustatory information has rarely been studied in relation to computers, even though there are lots of studies on visual, auditory, haptic and olfactory information. This scarcity of research on gustatory information has several reasons. One reason is that gustatory sensation is based on chemical signals, whose functions have not been fully understood yet. Another reason is that perception of gustatory sensation is affected by other factors, such as vision, olfaction, thermal sensation, and memories. Thus, complexity of cognition mechanism for gustatory sensation as described above ...

Sarah Alainn Live at University of Tokyo - Shima Uta

Singing at the University of Tokyo. Was such a liberating experience performing in the open at my old campus. Didn't think I'd be singing here when I was at uni two years ago. Felt at one with nature :) This was taken on my friend's camera (Thank you x) Here's a famous Okinawan tune - 'Shima Uta' (Island Song). Before my exchange buddies went back to their home countries, we went to Okinawa this summer, so I thought it'd be apt to sing this song today. Rain was on the forecast but we were blessed with clear blue skies as you can see! Reminded me of Okinawa :) Sang it in both English and Japanese. This one's for you, Aikom x Hope you enjoy it :) Much love, Sarah A xx

New World Order Universities [HD]

New World Order Universities! The word's best universities are Harvard University, Peking University (also known as PKU or Beida), and The University of Tokyo (also known as Todai)! Check out: The East-West dichotomy, by Thorsten Pattberg; www.east-west-dichotomy.com The global elites make great efforts to "synchronize" the various national education systems to one gargantuan, controllable global apparatus. Already, those three elite institutions regard themselves as one single exclusive "brotherhood" towering over rest.

Kitchen Robot Introduced in Japan

Professors at Tokyo University gave a glimpse into a future world where robots can help out around the house. It may not be as fast as a human and its movements might be a little jerky, but the humanoid robot can pour a cup of tea and even wash up the cup afterwards. The robot is the result of four years of hard work using cutting edge technology gathered from more than 40 Robotics and Information Technology professors at the University of Tokyo. Japan is in a leading position in terms of robotic design but most robots are used in industrial environments. The team of professors at Tokyo University wanted to create a robot that could be used in other environments. They believe this kind of service robot could be used in hospitals or household where the users are not in the position to conduct the normal chore themselves.
