Gore Verbinski's Rango Is gearing up for Release so it's time to start talking about The Lone Ranger. We reported that Johnny Depp is attached to play Tonto and while rumors of George Clooney planning the Lone Ranger have cropped up -- we are now hearing that Verbinski may be looking at Timothy Ola-phant! Ola-phant gives voice to the spirit of the west in Rango and since the two just finished working with each other on that project, the actor seems like a logical choice for Verbinski's Ranger. The Live action western is said to focus on Depp's Tonto as the lead character. And Verbinski recently revealed that the only version of the film he's interested in doing is Don Quixote told from Sancho Panza's point of view. The main question the director wants to focus on is whether or not the narrator is crazy or is the world he's in is crazy -- that he says is the fascinating part. Currently a screenplay is in the works and as long as they find the story that Verbinski wants to tell, he says it'll be worth doing!
