Credits: Bass - Bob Burnett Drums - Stewart McFayden Guitar - Graeme Wilmington , Donnelly Producer - Pascal Gabriel Vocals - Andrew Burnett Vocals [Additional] - Anne Hamilton An unfortunately short-lived but utterly wonderful neo-psychedelic jangle pop band, Close Lobsters only managed two albums and an EP in their brief career, but all three releases are brilliant, some of the best music of the late-'80s UK indie scene. Close Lobsters were formed in the Scottish village of Paisley (prophetically enough, given the band's psychedelic tendencies) in 1985 by singer Andrew Burnett and drummer Stewart McFayden. The pair couldn't decide between the names the Close and the Lobsters and simply combined the two for their nonsensical but evocative handle. Adding guitarists Tom Donnelly and Graeme Wilmington, plus Burnett's brother Robert on bass, Close Lobsters gained some early notoriety when their song "Fire Station Towers" showed up on the legendary New Musical Express cassette C-86, which lent its name to an entire movement of post-punk guitar bands. Close Lobsters had a greater commitment to melody than most of the C-86 bands, though, as shown on their first single, "Going to Heaven to See If It Rains," which was released in November 1986. A second single, "Never Seen Before," appeared in April 1987, with a superior re-recorded version of "Fire Station Towers" and a cover of the Only Ones' "Wide Waterways" on the flip. A follow up to the video I did last year, same spot same boats, it seems that British Waterways, the governing body of the UK canal system, seem to not care about keeping the canals tidy and looking good, only about getting their money from licence payers and sinking the boats of those unable to pay... Three of the boats have been there for well over a year, the fourth appearing within the last few months, so either this is a BW dumping ground, or people are coming to dump their boats, who knows!!! Anyway, I spoke a few comments, so have a listen... :)

They are not faster than a top-speed minecart, but they work on SMP servers (assuming your host has fixed bucket issues). All the water here either travels forwards, or is still. That is due to how the 'links' are constructed. First each one is crafted individually, to force the water forward. Then they are connected. Connecting them after prevents the water from flowing backwards. All discovery credit to 'aic', a player on the private SMP server I play on. To Donate: AppVoices.org To Learn More: AppVoices.org On March 9, 2011, we announced another 60 day intent to sue Nally & Hamilton Coal Company for more than 12000 violations of the Clean Water Act at more than a dozen of its operations in 7 eastern Kentucky counties. The notice letters provide evidence indicating that Nally and Hamilton has filed false and potentially fraudulent, water pollution monitoring data with state agencies over the past three years. Nally & Hamilton submitted reports in which all effluent data reported for a certain outfall in a certain month repeat exactly the data reported for the same outfall in other months. In other words, the company seems to have cut-and-pasted previous sets of data in later reports rather than monitoring the discharge and submitting accurate data for each month. The company also repeatedly omitted legally-required data from its reports. If fined, the maximum allowed under the Clean Water Act could amount to potential penalties of more than $400 million. Our legal team consists of the plaintiffs Appalachian Voices, Kentuckians for the Commonwealth, Kentucky Riverkeeper and Waterkeeper, represented by lawyers with the Natural Resources Defense Council.

In the southern Swiss canton of Valais, long stretches of wooden water canals can be seen clinging to the arid south-facing mountain slopes, supplying urgently needed melt and spring water for crops in this rain-starved area.
