Institute of the Incarnate Word (IVE) Mission in Greenland

Mission of the Institute of the Incarnate Word in Greenland. Greenland is the largest island in the world. By the grace of God, the IVE has a mission in this remote place. The mission in Nuuk, capital of Greenland, was established by the Institute of the Incarnate Word in 2009 and is associated with the Archdiocese of Copenhagen, Denmark, and with the US Military Archdiocese. Named Krist Konge Kirke ("Christ the King" in Danish) the parish serves the Inuit, Danish, Polish, and Filipino inhabitants (among other countries) of Greenland's largest city, and the American soldiers stationed at Peterson Air Force Base, in Thule. The base lies seven hundred miles north of the Arctic circle and boasts some of the most spectacular scenery found anywhere in the world. Please, keep us in your prayers!
