Turf grass is the biggest irrigated crop in the US; we irrigate grass almost exclusively with drinkable water; also, you will be surprised to learn that grass is INEDIBLE. Plus, I dislike mowing the lawn when it is 115 outside. Lots of people (particularly people who work in the lawn business) will note that turf grass is a carbon sink (particularly if you mow the lawn frequently). This is true, but there are far more efficient carbon sinks that don't require so much water. Garbus' powerfully focused, primal pop was a joyful release, utterly invigorating and just plain fun, and she brought the capacity crowd to their feet. Shooting a Commander size 1911 at 230 yards. Ammo is 230 grain hardball (Winchester White Box). I get in the mood every now and then to try this again, but it takes so much focus and concentration that it taxes my meager brain and attention a little too much! :-)

.22LR LETHALITY - 300 Yard Ballistics Test
**Don't Forget to Rate, Comment, and Subscribe!!!** We are testing the lethality of the .22LR @ 300 Yards...The reason I'm performing this test is because in the past I've had many people down play the lethality of the .22LR at any ranges. This test will help us better understand the capabilities of this little round. TEST: The test here consists of a 4-5" thick piece of chuck roast and 8 layers of denim (4 in front 4 in back). The .22LR round that we are using is the CCI Velocitor GDHP. This round is moving about 1400 FPS out of the muzzle. @ 300 yards this 40 grain bullet is moving about 825 FPS with about 60 ft/lbs of energy. Your standard velocity .22LR is moving about 1050 FPS and has about 100 ft/lbs. So this is both representative of the Velocitor's capability at range but also a closer shot with a more standard velocity ammo. RESULTS: We had two center of mass hits at 300 Yards...one of these penetrated completely through the denim and roast, the other penetrated through 4 layers of denim and the entire roast, but came to a stop on the other side under the rear denim, highly expanded. Both rounds (comparing the wound channel) were expanded. DISCUSSION: After reviewing the results I feel there is no doubt that the .22LR (specifically the CCI Velocitor is lethal at extended ranges. I can speculate that if this test were performed with solid lead nose or FMJ ammo the penetration would probably be even greater due to the lack of expansion (and the braking effect that <b>...</b>

700 Yard AR15 Shooting
Shooting steel at a laser-measured 703 yards with the .223 AR15 Bushmaster Varminter. Some wind, rain, and fading light to deal with, but I was determined to get this done. The elements only made it more challenging....and rewarding! Scope is a Leupold Mark III 14 x 50mm, and it was stretched out on this setup. Focus was outstanding, and target aspect was still good. I could probably squeeze another 100-150 yards with this scope on the same size target and maintain reasonable accuracy.

Initially we were told it would just be his son speaking and Billy would be there to give a brief speech before the sermon, however it turned out to be the opposite. .30 M1 Carbine 250 Yards Shooting
Target shooting the .30 M1 Carbine at a laser-measured 250 yards in a stiff 10-15 mph wind. Using iron sights, no scope. This rifle is a 1943 Inland/General Motors. I'm using AR500 steel targets from Mike Gibson Targets. Ammo is 110 grain FMJ from Prvi Partizan. This open-sight shooting exhibition showed the accuracy potential of the M1 carbine at what many believe is at or beyond its effective range. However, it also showcased how the lower velocity of this round compared to newer cartridges (or .30-06 from an M1 Garand, for example) causes the bullet to drop like a rock. The comparative lower energy delivered at this distance was also notable. This session was cleared with the property owners of a huge tract of land, surround by more large tracts of land. Backstops were confirmed. No cattle were harmed during the production of this video. Filmed with two Sony HD AVCHD camcorders; HDR-CX560 at 28 mbps 60p and HDR-CX110 at 24 mbps. 200 yard target shooting session with the EOTech 516 Holographic Weapons System. Sight is mounted to my AR15 carbine; Rock River Arms upper receiver with 16" barrel and Bushmaster lower. A cinder block wall at 250 yards might not be adequate cover from the 7.62X51 NATO round and that wonderful rifle, the M1-A / M14. My goal was to put rounds all over the wall; you know, "spread the wealth around." It won me a $150 gift certificate, so it was definitely worth "selling my soul" hahaha. Here is a dual-camera video of the Edgun Matador .22 shooting (expired) cans of beer at 170+ yards. I had to adjust my vertical turret about 320 clicks (from 50 yard zero), and my horizontal turret about 32 clicks (for a light wind).
